Check for Evap Codes

Failed Evap Vent Solenoid-- most likely

Have to smoke the system & test the components,
unless you can find a diagram of that solenoid & want
to chance the price of a part & maybe not fix it, because
of no component testing.

Could remove it & test it

1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 limited evap canister location needed

ok if you see those vents on the tank and those vent hoses.
they go to the canister via 1 valve, on all cars made.
just takes looking with eyes.

Why can't I fill the gas tank in my 2005 jeep liberty?

vents clogged in fuel system.?
or the gas station island pump is bad.
try another station ? yet?. if not why not.?

some stations have those silly bellows, nozzles, (calif style)
and if there nozzle is bad, bingo, if there fume recover system is boinked then bingo 2.
so try one more station...

2005 jeep liberty wont take gas

When you replaced the tank, did you check or replace the tank filler neck hose or the vent hose? That is where the issue is.

2004 jeep can not put gas in the gas tank

There are check ball valves in the filler neck and vent line that close in a rollover preventing fuel from flowing out of the tank. One or both could be closed. Has this Jeep been on its side or top recently? Another possibility is that someone has put something down the filler neck.

When I try to put gas in the jeep, the gas will not go down. It over flow.

If I remember correctly, there is a screen in the tube of the gas tank. It is probably clogged up from years of fill ups.

Fuel gauge

you either have a bad sending unit, which iit is in the fuel pump assembly in the tank or a hole in the float and it fills with gas and sinks, which it's also on the fuel pump assembly in the tank or a bad fuel gauge in the instrument cluster. it's more than likely a sending unit problem, jeeps are bad about the sending unit to quit working
