You must complete what is called an OBD2 drive cycle test, be patient.

Did you have codes before you cleared the CEL light?

Yes I did. # or 4 codes. The only one I remember is P0341. Another code had to do with low coolant. I have a crack in the top rear of the radiator and also a couple of exhaust leaks. I did the drive cycle this morning but it didn't work.

I see the scenario, you disconnected the battery because the check engine light was on, that does not work on cars built after 1996, the system will read not ready until the drive cycle is complete, and the drive cycle will not complete until the codes you have are detected and turn the check engine light back on. As far as the P0341 goes that is a problem in the Camshaft Position Sensor or the wiring to it or the Powertrain control module.

No, I never disconnected the battery. The check engine light shuts off on its own but the not ready for the EGR, 02 sensor heater, catalyst, evap stays on

You need the dealer and very special test gear to short this out.

1999 Mazda B2500 won't pass inspection

Generally speaking, the not ready issue means the truck has not been driven enough since the battery was disconnected or the codes were cleared to have a new history. The cycle drive needs to include about 50-100 miles of both city and highway driving with the engine at normal operating temp. The distance does not have to be done in one trip.

Got codes P0401---EGR Valve. P1684---have found two different meanings for this code. One says a readiness test. Not all readiness tests have been performed. This means that at least one of the many...

P1684 Metering Oil Pump Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction, , on a dodge it means just that , you've disconnected the battery its just a status code,, don't worry about this one,, Now the P0401 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected,
  • Use a vacuum pump and pull the EGR valve open while monitoring engine RPM's & DPFE voltage. There should be a noticable difference in RPM's with the EGR open
  • Clean out the EGR valve and/or tubing to remove deposits
  • Check the voltage at the DPFE, compare to specified values (refer to a repair manual for your specific model)
  • Replace the DPFE sensor (with a good quality / OEM one)

2005 Chrysler 300 pass inspection no calibration nathing is ready problem to see any compiuter

Check all the fuses if the fuse is blown that gives power to the computer while the key is off the computer can loose it memory. On some cars for some unknown reason when the car is off the computer losses the readiness test results. The only thing you can do is drive the car around for at least ½ hour then take it to the inspection station and have the test run but DO NOT shut the engine off. A dead or disconnected battery will also clear the readiness results. The bummer is there is no bulletproof fix.
