Question about 2012 Toyota Camry
When parked in the garage I can hear a noise coming from the gas tank area. Car is shut off. Keys off. Intermittent. Thanks
If this is occurring when the tank is full or close to full, or at specific levels of the tank, the most common cause would be the float in the tank sloshing with the gasoline and bumping against the tank itself. This is generally not cause for concern or alarm, nor does it cause any damage, and is simply a result of physics. If it happens at all times, that is still the likely cause, however a quick check over by a dealership might be warranted if it concerns you. Good dealerships will not charge you anything to at least answer the question with complete confidence or take a look.
