Truck won't start

I have a 96 Ford F-150. 5-speed.

Truck has problems starting. I put a new battery in, so I ruled that out.

This is what happens: on my first attempt, the dash lights / radio come on, when key is in "on" position. When I turn to ignite (start), I hear a click, and get nothing.

Then, after that first attempt, I get NO juice whatsoever.....no dash lights, no nothing, as I make further attempts.

I researched and I'm thinking its the ignition switch, because I read that a faulty one could effect all of the "key" positions (on, start, etc).
