Question about 2002 Mercury Sable
3.0 litre dual overhead cam engine, check engine light shows low out put tps. I replace the tps and cleared the code. The engine light stays out after I start it but come back on after the car is turn off then restarted. It does this no matter how many time I clear the code. It stays out until I shut the car engine off, but then when I restart it the light come back on. This on a 3.0 litre dual overhead cam engine
Then you did not fix the problem. Codes are not cut and dry, it can be the part the wiring to it or in rare cases a defective Powertrain control module (PCM)

You describe this as an acceleration problem however, if the car does throw a check engine light it should be recorded in system memory so it can be pulled by scanning with and OBDII scanner. It sounds as if the car is being starved for fuel on acceleration. Check the fuel lines for kinks as well as check the fuel pressure. The problem could be a faulty fuel pump that has yet to completely die.

SOURCE: 1999 mercury sable engine code
In fixing this code, it is quite common for people to just replace the EGR valve only to have the OBD code return. The EGR valve is not always the culprit.
Use a vacuum pump and pull the EGR valve open while monitoring engine RPM's & DPFE voltage. There should be a noticable difference in RPM's with the EGR open.
Clean out the EGR valve and/or tubing to remove deposits.
Check the voltage at the DPFE, compare to specified values (refer to a repair manual for your specific model).
Replace the DPFE sensor (with a good quality / OEM one).
Replace the EGR valve.
