My Chrysler cirrus goes into low 1 or low 2 on its on. It says that it goes in limp mode. What would cause that. Its a automatic transmission.

"Limp Mode" is determined by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). It could be going into limp mode as a result of a transmission malfunction or it may be going into limp mode as the result of an engine control problem. The only way to find out is to scan your onboard computer system and retrieve any engine or transmission fault codes and diagnose and repair accordingly.

Please note that engine control problems can CAUSE transmission control problems. If there are any engine control faults, these MUST be diagnosed and repaired FIRST.

I am replacing my transmission on my 1998 chrysler cirrus. When replacing it do i have to replace anything else in order for it to work?

is this a used transmission? if so make sure the fluid is red and the fluid doesnt smell burnt. remove the transmission pan and see if there is any metal in the pan before installing a used transmission.

Transmission fluid

The transmission fluid is added in the transmission dipstick tube, while the engine is running. Use a funnel that's not going to flip over when it gets full. Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Looking for a transmission for a 95 cirrus.

If you're in the Los Angeles, CA area there's a Craigslist listing for a complete 1997 Cirrus and the guy is selling the transmission for $150 with 150K miles on it.

Change the fluid and filter, use synthetic trans fluid, you may cure your issue this way, have you run self test on the trans for trouble codes?
