Question about 2001 Lincoln Navigator

1 Answer

2001 Lincoln Navigator starts and dies immediately. It was running fine and all of a sudden now you start it and it just dies instantly. It is not a battery problem. I think it might be something electrical. any ideas?

Thank you Seans46. I left the car overnight and the next morning it started just fine. Worked fine 2 days straight and today it did it again. Do you think its still a fuel pump problem?

Have the fuel pump checked , its sounds like a bad pump. you can check press at fuel rail with a gauge or find a shop with a scope they can check the pattern, and they can check volume as well. you can have presss but no volume. and if you are checking your self and want the easy way spray some starting fluid down the throttle body and see if it stays running while being sprayed remember keep the mass air hooked up , so spray and hook intake plastic tube back up.

2001 lincoln navigator battery drain

Did you check for B+ voltage at the heavier gage wire on the back of the alternator ? When yor turn the key to run , not start , does the charge indicator light ? When the vehicle is running is that charge light lit or off ? There is a fuse that supplies B+ voltage to it . Fuse # 30 located in the central junction box , it's a 30 amp fuse ! Plus one more fuse located in the battery junction block # 11 20amp . With out B+ voltage at these connections on the alternator it will not charge .

Our 2001 lincoln ls was running fine, then all of a sudden now it wont start. we have replaced the battery, and everything else turns on, it is just hard to turn the key and it wont start--and it was all...

I would love to answer this question but I am having the same issue. I have a 2000 LS with the V8..replaced the battery about 2 weeks ago and last night I went to go home and it won't start. All the bells ring when I turn the key but when I turn to the right to "start" position, nothing. No clicking, no noise at all. I called the Lincoln dealership and we went over the alarm light "not flashing" and shifter position. They have no advice other than "tow it in".
The vehicle had been running fine.

Where is the idle control valve 98 navigator

ac253.jpg&size=16&dhm=d9abe840&hl=enThis is what your idle control valve looks like, it will be located on your intake manifold. You will have to remove the black plastic cover that is over the intake to see it. Hope this helps......

Starter motor always turning

The starter is not disengaging back. When you start the car the end of the starter pushes out, then retracts again. find out why it is doing that. This could be a mechanical problem. I dont think it is electrical at all.
