Is it stuck to the block or you have it loose and can't remove it from the frame?

SOURCE: hole in oil pan

Yes you can do it in the car.The only thing that may hinder you is you have to remove the Y-pipe and the nuts on the studs may be extremely rusted,so make sure you soak them really good with PB Blaster or eqivalent before trying to take them loose.

SOURCE: 1998 ford windstar 3.8 rusted through oil pan

I had a similar problem with my Pontiac Grand Prix. I solved it by buying some windshield sealer (available at an auto parts store), finding a short sheet-metal screw, LIBERALLY applying the glue to the screw, and screwing it into the leaky hole. I drove the car for years like this - NEVER had another oil leak, and sold the car.

2001 ford windstar oil leak from oil plug

There could be several causes for your leak:
  • Oil plug is loose
  • Oil plug is stripped and can't be tightened
There are some products that will substitute for a bad oil plug. Most repair shops will try to sell you a new oil pan. Sometimes a small gasket around the oil plug will stop the leak as well.

It appears as tho oil is mixing in the coolant on my 2001 Ford Windstar. It "smokes" from the hood when it has been running or driven.

Hello kipl1980
Has the car been over heated recently? The reason I ask is what you've described are the classic
symptoms of a blown head gasket, the coolant in the oil pan and the smoke is most likely coolant
burning off the engine. As this is a fairly big job I suggest bringing it to a mechanic you've used
before and trust. If you don;t have one ask some freinds about theirs. And always get prices.
Also if you have to drive it any distance change the oil+filter first, anti freeze is a lousy lubricant.
Good luck.

Just changed the oil pan gasket in my 1996 ford windstar and its still leaking oil and there is oil all over the passenger side of my van ,where else can this leak be?

You have a front and rear main seal, if either of these are leaking the oil will be coming from the center of the engine above the oil pan. There are 2 1 in front and 1 in back of the engine.

Leaking oil while running from passenger side where could it be comming from?

Oil Filter, oil pressure sensor, front crankshaft seal, oil pan gasket there are a lot of things that could leak oil. depends on how fast it is coming out, Ive seen a lot of oil pan gaskets oil pressure sensors and even some oil filters not snugged up.

Ford windstar 2001

I believe you want to know engine oil capacity? It is 5 and 3/4 quarts, which includes the oil filter. The gas tank capacity is 25.6 gallons.
