When you run a Pump Empty, there is no FUEL to keep it cool and you overheat it and burn it up.

Replaced fuel pump now fuel gauge isn't working

sending units get knocked out of calibration when they change the pump.(carelessly).if you can.. check the top of the tank, to see if they plugged it in firmly. if not, raise heck till the change it. (doubt they will). other than the wires, not much you can do, without dropping the tank.

Elecric fuel pump wiring diagram needed - fuel pump not working...new relay didn't help

turn the ignition key to the ON position without starting the engine up. You should hear the fuel pump run for 5 seconds. If not heard replace the oil pressure sensor which is linked to the same circuit. When oil pressure is acheived the fuel pump relay takes over to run the pump

sounds like the thermostat stuck closed, a water pump would not cause this problem, replace the T-stat.

Won't Start when hot, sometimes.

The fuel pump is located in the tank. The fuel pump has a strainer on the pump. The strainer maybe clogged. on some units the strainer can be replaced instead of the whole pump unit. I dont recommend since servicing the pump requires opening the tank and this can be very dangerous. Static discharge has know to blow the tanks up without proper grounding. Also fumes have been known to ignite from home utilities such as a hot water heater. If you want to perform this please respond. I have performed this on several different vehicles
