Its bad, or is just loose.
requiring, access , inspection and correcting looseness or replacement as reality dictates.
why not look first. find what is loose. then ask how to fix X that is loose.
could be bad shifter, bad pivot, bad base bad, mount, who knows?

2010 dodge caravan when in park the ignition key will not go into the off position how do I fix this ?

These are usually controlled by a small cable from the ignition cylinder to the shifter. Try going through the gear selection several times to see if it releases. If not, try using slight force to put the shifter in park and hold it there while trying to remove the key

Gear shifter is in Park, but dash reads it's in Reverse. Car won't turn over because it is in Reverse now.

You have to locate where the park ignition switch is located. Some are on the transmission and some are in the column under the dash. It probably got moved.

Locked Ignition but steering wheel free

Push gear selector up past park and it should loosen up, or press hard on the brake pedal. Shifter up past park usually loosens it up. Common GM problem.

Cannot get the key out of the ignition

Try lightly wiggling the shifter lever up past park. This usually helps.
Otherwise you can lightly tap around ignition with a ballpean hammer to knock the pins loose.

Most GM vehicles are touch. You can grab shifter and press up past park and ignition will turn

97 Celica - Key stuck in accesory position

while in park, press shifter firmly even farther above park. Hold shifter and turn key.
The linkage may need adjusting. If this does not help the situation, then the pins inside the ignition are not getting pressed down because key is getting worn. You can try to tap around the ignition lightly with hammer to shake the pins loose.
