Check the fusible link on the battery cable. It's basically a large fuse for the whole van. It will be located within inches of the battery connection. Usually just a small black plastic box. With a multimeter, check if voltage is getting past this point. If so, check your ground cable. It could be loose.

Do I need to keep a power backup when changeing the battery

Yes you do
battery shops have a small unit the plugs into the system and keeps items and codes in place during the change over
talk with a battery shop and see where they connect the unit
basically it is a small 12 volt battery

1994 Toyota Estima no dashboard lights wont start no power changed battery an still nothing

Most Toyota's have 2 power wires coming off the positive battery side. Sometimes they will corrode up, check the power coming from your battery with a volt meter, this should be a easy fix. Hope this helps.

I just changed my battery on 2000 Toyota Solara and I have no power to anything. No icon lights, car door lights, clock, nada. Before I changed the battery, the car would take a few attempts to get it...

Have you checked the fuses in the fuse box under the hood, check the large 120A alternator fuse and the other 40A and 30A fuses with the clear plastic cover on them.

Changed starter

Sounds like a main wire is not connected. You could check the fuses for power and trace it back to the battery.

Replaced the fuel pump on 97 dodge mini caravan now motor wont crank like the battery is dead. tried jumping it - nothing. All lights work bright! What did I do wrong?

I would check the starter for voltage first - there is a starter relay that is grounded by the PCM. If the ASD relay is faulty the pcm won't have power. You should have battery power to the starter and power on the solenoid when you turn the key to start.

Changed wires, plugs and oil change....went to start, no power

No power, as in-nothing? check the connections at the battery, get a voltage meter to see if you have 12.5 volts (resting)-your battery may be bad, but it is probably just a battery connection-clean the terminals (both ends, the battery and the lugs) and make sure they are tight.
