Those codes are for the EVAP system, the 442 is a medium leak

Can I put a 1998 dodge ram 1500 4.7L V8 engine in a 2002 dodge ram 1500?

Yes it will fit but why, it is a very poor engine choice as they are fraught with mechanical problems. the 5.2L is a better choice.

I have a dodge durango 2001 have code p0442 evap emissions system i change the canister and the purge valve solenoid check hoses and gas cap and still showing the same code what else can be?

I went through the same issues with my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. I ended up purchasing a brand new gas cap from the dealership for $15.00 it fixed the problem, this after I spent $1500 on everything else :( I suggest spending the money on the gas cap and having someone reset the computer. Drive for 100 miles and retest. That should take care of the problem. Good luck.

P0455 P0442 codes 2001 dodge ram 1500

P0442 Means you have a small leak in your EVAP system. P0455 is a large leak.
The EVAP system prevents gas vapors from entering the air .
This code can be set by a leak in the lines or a clogged charcoal canister.
Most common reason is If you did not put your gas cap on all the way.
Hope this helps

P0442 code on 02 ram 1500

It is a vacuum leak from the engine to the gas tank. Did you leave of the gas cap. May just be a faulty gas cap. Filler neck could be cracked. Check hoses going to tank for cracks. To test the gas cap you can place a plastic bag on it and screw it on. You have to drive 20-50 miles to clear code.

Trouble code P0442 on 2001 dodge ram 1500" what steps should i take to diagnose what the problem is?

P0442 means you have a small leak in your EVAP System. your can try replacing the Gas cap since it's the easiest thing to do and reset the check engine light with a scanner. If the check engine light came back on then your going to have to go though all the Vacuum line in the EVAP system and connections. The other thing too is the service engine light should turn off when the problem is addressed and it may take up to three start ups to clear. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help, Recap, change the gas cap and inspect all the hose and connection's to the EVAP system.

The codes p1596 and 0420 have appeard on my 2002 dodge ram 1500 quad cab and was needing assistance.

The P1596 is Speed Control Switch Always High and P0420 is Catalyst Efficiency Below Normal (Bank 1) and try taking the positive cable off battery for ten minutes and see if that doesn't help that way it will reset the computer and may just drop them codes.
