Question about 2000 Opel Astra

I have a 2000 opel astra,serviced starter ,fitted again,now car start but switch off again,and then wont start immidiate again,please help

Replaced starter now car starts ,but switch off immidiately again,then have to wait before will start but switch off again

    the car will start,i noticed enjin management light flickering,then will switch off,i got advice that maybe keys lost code ,that why switching everything off,cos tested fuel pump relay,its eorking fine,i going to check keys out today,i am justconfused as how a starter problem could hace become a key problem

Sounds like the wires may not be hooked correctly on the starter; maybe one was left off. Or you may have blown the fuseable link in the cable. Check all the connections to verify they are correct, then verify there is power reaching the starter to verify the fuseable link isn't blown.

No idea offhand to be honest i would need my head under the bonnet to know what wrong .could be anything from the gauze filter in the fuel tank on the bottom of the fuel pump becoming chocked up and leaving the car allows it to drop away to a faulty pump overheating or the contacts ,maybe even a ignition module overheating ,Best advice is ask a local mechanic to have a look for you as normally these early opel corsas with the 4 cylinder engine are bullet proof they are even valve free if the timing belt snaps .

this is the 16 valve one with a rubber ring type gasket ,what i do with these is clean it all up the i glue the rubber gasket in with evostick ,place face down on a flat bench t dry then grease the rubber and fit that always does it for me ,they fall out of the groove no matter how good or hard you try .Old trick i learnt in the ford factory when putting the big V manifolds on .

Opel Astra 1.6 16v wont start but has power.

The engine light has been an indication you may have a "battery charging problem"...This could be a bad battery, bad alternator, or just dirty battery post connections (or loose) Try the cleaning and tightening of the posts first...(least costly) dirty posts will allow the lights etc to work, but do not allow the full current needed to turn the starter...Hope this helps.

My astra gtc will not start... there is 12.3 volts in the battery and even when you put the booster to it, it still will not start... when you try to start it the starter just clickes and goes nowhere....

Sounds like a dead starter to me. You could pull it out and try cleaning it really well it some penetrating fluid as it could be just stuck, but if that doesn't work then it will need to be replaced.

Most battery last 48 months,check the date code on top of the battery to see how long it is in service.

Saturn ,now if iam correct this is a renamed opel astra for the american market ,now again if iam correct this is a 16v 4 cyl engine and again i think if iam correct the computer is bolted to the inlet manifold right hand side of the engine and if so this is the problem as here in europe the zafiro 7 seater and opel astra and the aussie version called a holden all suffer from the same fault ,I honestly that if this is the case then remove the computer from the manifold and pull it to one side as the wires are just about long enough ,leave the silly plastic engine cover off to help cooling and use a 12v computer fan from a power pack or whatever with a couple of plastic ties hold the computer to the brake pipes and strap the fan to the back of the computer and have the fan connected to a ignition supply in the fuse noard so it comes on with the ignition and see how it goes .You are not the person in the world to have this problem but all these engine have this problem regardless of the name of the car Please dont shoot the messenger as hemmingway once wrote ban guns is what i say
