Question about 2005 Dodge Dakota
COMES ON FOR AWHILE THEN GOES OFF
It may be an external light indicator - meaning you may have a brake, turn, reverse or running bulb bad, or a bad connection to one of them. Go to a local store with large, low windows and parking available in front of the window ( night time is best ) .Back up to the window and apply the brakes while in reverse and look in the reflection for all bulbs working with the lights off. Then put it in park and turn the lights on, once again watching that reflection. If all is good, turn on the hazard ( emergency) flashers with the lights on and walk around the vehicle, inspecting all running and turn signal lights for operation.
Hope this helps!
