Question about 2003 Volvo S80
I have a volvo s80 and have been having intermittent no start issues. With intially warnings for anti skid, transmission and engine service required? Only seems to happen when damp. First time once it had a good run. All warnings went and worked fine. Month or so later same thing. Had it with volvo and then scanned the computer and said the computers not communicating and update required. Did update and day after sluggish pulling away at junction, no lights on gear stick, is auto by the way. Next day worked fine. Day after no start. Waited an hour or so and started again. Left for a day and again no start! Help
Check for alternator and starter motor functioning ok , does it turn over and not fire up or not turn over at all?

Testimonial: "Hi, it turns over but does not fire up. Except for yesterday when it started twice but died each time."
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

perhaps you need a new cap and roter a new spark plug wire set. they don;t like moisture. also check to see if you have any broken or leaking vacuum hoses. the worse case senerio would be that your head gasket is leaking--at cold temps a little antifreeze will enter until everything warms up and it seals shut due to metal expanding. but since you say it's cold weather only--this probably wou;dn't be the case. good luck.

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 1999 T6. It usually happened after a 2 hr run. Usually it would not go higher than 1000rpm until it cleared itself or I switched off and strated again. A dealer put a computer diagnostic on an recommended a mixture sensor to be replaced. Before I got to book that in I tried switching to only 98 Octane Fuel and I haven't had a problem since.
