Question about 2005 Buick Rainier
5.3L V8 engine in my \'05 Buick Rainier is making a ticking noise. Was told this is a GM
model 5.3L V8. Vehicle has 200,xxx miles on it. Starts up and runs great, but every once in a while when idling, the ticking noise starts. It seems to go away when driving though. I have been told it is common with these engines. Is there any troubleshooting I can do? Is this something that is possibly
fatal to my engine?
With that amount of miles on it I would be paying attention to rocker bushes/shaft and the ends of the rockers on the valve ends. have a leak down test done on the hydraulic followers . Check the cam lobes for missing faces or dents
