Question about 1993 Saturn SL2

1 Answer

My car is repeatedly blowing a fuse

Hi there. I own a 97 saturn sl2(it wouldn't let me select '97) and I'm having a problem with it repeatedly blowing fuses. During the middle of operating it, it will just turn off. I can't accelerate or anything. The first time this happened I checked the fuses and one. It keeps blowing a 30A(its green i believe) that is for my ignition system. I replaced it and it started right up. Then it happened again three days later while I was driving on the freeway. After I pulled over, I put into two more fuses and they both blew when I tried to start my car. I'm very confused as to what is causing the fuses to blow repeatedly.

SOURCE: fog light fuse keeps blowing

Check the fog lights for water intrusion, this will cause a short, also look at the wiring where it goes to the fog lights, look for worn wires where it runs through the body of the car, I know the short is one of these things, have seen it before.

SOURCE: My 1996 Saturn sl, died on me. This is what

Sound to me like you might be experiencing a security system failure. When the key is not communicating with the antitheft correctly, it will actually turn off injectors and/or your starter. Does a light show up on they dash that says "security" when this happens? That would be a good indicator of security failure. Read up on this link and see of your symptoms match the ones listed. If so, there are a few "do it yourself" solutions on that site. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

Changed fuel pump not pumping fuel not working correctly relay good getting power second fuse for fuel pump not working one wire fuel pump in back getting weal power 97 Saturn sl2

If I understand your post correctly you have a fuse for the fuel pump that is blown or blowing. Until you resolve that issue the fuel pump probably will not get enough power to run. If it blows when you replace it the you have a wiring problem to your fuel pump. Most replacement gm fuel pumps come with a replacement plug for the fuel pump. Make sure you use it if yours did as there have been lots of problems with the wiring plug being damaged due to the high current draw of the fuel pump.

Where is the radio fuse in the fuse box in my 1994 saturn SL

On my 97 SL2 it's on the passenger front side near where your left foot would go. You remove the panel as part of the center console and it's behind it

In my 1994 Saturn SL1, there is a grey one under the hood on the driver's side AND one inside the car on the passenger side where the left foot would go

On the passenger side, on the side of the instrument panel, there is another fuse box, the radio fuse is number 10 on mine. The problem is I changed it and the radio still doesn't work.
On a 93 sl2 its in the same fuse box, but is number 19

My windows stopped working on my '97 saturn sl2. I have checked the relay switch and it was ok. I changed out the relay switch and still nothing. There is no fuse under the hood. Any ideas on what to do?

There IS a fuse under the hood...the green 30A big boy labeled power/convenience. Use a multimeter to check power coming into the relay...if it's not there probably the fuse. If it is there, could be the switches.

If it's the fuse, go to a junkyard and get one cheap. But then, they're pretty cheap new too.
