If you have an after market alarm sys. take it back to who ever installed it . as far as the key & lock sys . spray some WD40 into the lock and try again . disconect the alarm speaker until you figure it out . Good Luck
this can work on some cars, try unlocking the door with the key then try to start the car if the alarm goes off unlock the drivers door with the key two times repeated some times the first unlock will pop the locks and the second should deactivate the alarm. it worked for me hope this helps
Sounds like you have a key without the chip in it. Replacement keys without the chip will only unlock the doors and will activate the theft alarm when you start the vehicle.
If you can step up to the car and unlock it with the remote and everything is ok until you touch the ign. I'd say door switch. If you unlock the car, but fiddle around a bit before starting, the car has a senile moment and trips off.
But if you can't even use the remote then it sounds like the key isn't recognized by the alarm system. Try a different key, like the valet key- the one without the alarm buttons on it. If that doesn't work I'd say you have to drag the car and EVERY key to the VW stealership to have the alarm recoded
On some cars/trucks/SUV's, the alarm will go off if the car is unlocked with the key or if the door is opened (even from inside the car with the alarm set). Unlocking with a key does not always turn off a car alarm. Best advice, go to the dealership to get a new key-less entry remote, or get a new alarm installed with a remote to override the original alarm system.
put your key in the door and turn it firmly to the unlock postion... I believe it is to the front of the car... then back to center... The factory alarm can be armed /disarmed by the key in the door.
Well, my mom found a little button underneath the dash board on the drivers side. And I guess its kind of like the reset button. So she pushed it and started the car and it was fine!
