The car is obviously itself running at an above average tempareture thus adding to the effect of the outside tempareture having an influence because their is not enough cool air outside to cool down the engine fast enough and probably one or two electronic components are being affected by the intense heat as heat is a major problem in all electronic components causing them to break down, especially within a hot engine compartment of a motor vehicle.Contraction and expansion is what causes the fluctuation within the component's performance.This could very likely be an erratic electronic contact, and in the event of a carburettor model could also be a hot mechanical fuel pump. Try pouring water at a slow rate over the various components like the electronic module, some of the sensors on the engine, Hold a cool wet rag over the airflow meter, and place a cool wet rag around the distributor, the coil, etc.Sometimes even a hot relay switch can be a headache.As you go along try starting the car again after each cooling session on the various components and you will eventually find out which one is the problem. More then likely the sending unit is faulty, but to be safe hook up a mechanical test gage at the oil pressure sender port and check oil pressure hot engine, if it is steady then replace the sending unit.
Ensure your spark plugs,wires (ignition coil and spark) and your filters (air and fuel) are within 2 years of installation It's erratic at 800 rpm as the engine is cold and they like the 2200 range for 3 minutes before they kick down on their own. Press the pedal twice before inserting your key. The owners manual states depending on the outside temperature, the engine will require more priming. Update if possible.
i doubt it's the IAT in the air cleaner tube. Go to an auto parts store and ask them to scan your car for fault codes & see if one says a bad IAT.
It may be the start of your fuel pump in the fuel tank failing. Need to check pressure to see if maintains 40 psi. Gauge connects to fuel rail shrader valve.
