Question about 1999 Mazda 626
The adjustment is found under the boot for the hand lever. You must remove or lift up the boot which surrounds the hand brake lever. Use a deep socket to tighten the nut on the end of the threaded shaft which is attached to the front end of the emergency brake cable. Make incremental adjustments to the cable. Test by using the hand lever after each adjustment to ensure that the emergency brake does not drag with the hand lever released.
