Question about BMW 318
Ive had this problem for a while.. Not sure what to do with it. Car still runs fine. Not sure which if I should tighten the belt or which belt to tighten #amateur
Check the belts first for cracks especially the back of the belt where it rides on the pulley. It sounds to me like one has worn out and may be just spinning causing the noise. Now another problem that will cause that noiose is the tensioner pulley.Check that as well.

rubber pipe , its at the back under the pollen filter , comes as a double pipe one fat one thin , fat one is for air flow , thin one water , both for cooling the engine. The fat one was actually split , causing my engine to idle bad , so i replaced the part , engine idle is fine but now i gt that noise , and i get air suction when i take oil dipstick out while engine is running , so i am guessing something is not right but dk what

if it gets louder when the lights are on that means its the alternator belt, and you will have to look under the alternator there you will find the manual tensioner you have to loosen the mounting bolt in order to tighten it with the long tensioner bolt.
