SOURCE: 1998 Buick LeSabre - back seat removal for installing strut

Are you sure you have to pull the back seat? Those strut towers should be behind the seats and therefore should be accessible from the trunk. There might be some carpeting that is covering up the access, and it is probably a little cramped but I believe you can get to them from there.

SOURCE: hood will not open when you pull release handle

There might be several problems:

1. Cabling to and from handle and latch is loose or stretched (normal wear) or broken. Replace and/or adjust
2. The latch is dirty or bent/deformed. Clean and lubricate
3. The latch needs adjusting, lubricating. Clean and lubricate
4. Misalignment of hood due to: wear, or slight bump/accident, nudge. Check for alighnment!

Try having someone pull up the hood while you pull the lever. This is a quickie only; then do items mentioned above...

Asuming you mean taillight/turnsignal, and not highmounted brake light: the trunk
2.Remove 4 wingnuts on trunk trim (there are two on each side)
You can do it by only removing 2 on one side, but it makes a nicer job,
3.Pull back the trunk "trim" the carpeted cardboard
4.Remove 2 wingnuts which hold the taillight assembly in place
Pull out the taillight assembly; you might want to remove (i.e. unattach or unplug) the wiring harness
5.Turn the particular bulb's socket (there's 5 back there: 2 tail, 1 back up, 1 side marker, 1 brake/turn) counterclockwise, and it removes from the assembly, holding the bulb.
6. Pull out bulb and replace.
6. Reverse steps to reassemble.

Trunk release

Yes. In the Owners manual it says to lower the rear seat if you have the rear fold down seat option and to pull the child release. Have you checked the fuses for the trunk release circuit?
