You can get a replacement solenoid at a place like MB Transmissions on 63 San Jose Avenue in San Jose, Ca. They run about 40-75 bucks each. If you need another transmission, you can get a used one or a rebuilt one. Do you have a check engine light? If you do, you need to put it on a computer and get the codes for it. The codes will tell you what to do next. Flashing D light means a trans code is stored. How To Pull Honda Codes Without Scanner EricTheCarGuy

Your shift solenoid or Torque Converter Clutch (most likely) probably needs attention. I'm providing a diagram here~~> 9de2cd4a-2265-493a-9424-805f9d806701.jpg

Transmission slips in first gear and reverse but shifts fine after going

Is your O/D light blinking to notify a trouble code? If so, it could be a failed shift solenoid.

If not, the first place to look would be low trans fluid level.

Faulty transmission solenoid symptoms: 1. transmission delay in shifting into drive and reverse > 3 seconds 2. shift from gear 1 to 2 is delayed and hard shift when I accelerate hard 3. other gears...

If this was electronic in nature the light would be on. No you have a mechanical fault in the transmission and it sounds like you will need to overhaul it.

Blinking hold lamp when driving and no speedometer reading please help

My 2002 Mazda protege had the blinking hold light problem. I went to a mechanic and he said,it could be a problem with the solenoid in the gearbox. He diagnosed all the 6 solenoids and found out that 4 out of 6 is not working, so I bought the 4 solenoids and got it replaced. But still, the hold light keeps on blinking, then the mechanic said it could be the transmission sensor, got it replaced then thank god the blinking hold light is gone! :) So,you need to check the transmission sensor first before you check the solenoid cause in my case, the fault could be just the sensor rather than the pricey solenoids.

My 97 tahoe will not go into reverse but good in all forward gears

Inside this type of transmission reverse is applied with a special clutch band, that band is usually the first thing to wear out in any automatic transmission, no reverse is a very common failure and I see it often on FixYa, the only solution is to overhaul the transmission, since replacing the reverse band requires the transmission be completely disassembled.

My 2001 Blazer will go forward but doesnt go in reverse. Is there a reverse switch on or near the transmission?

Does the gear selector show that is in reverse? Does the transmission have gear selector solenoids on the transmission? If so, may be a bad reverse select solenoid. Do the 'backup' lights come on when reverse is selected?
