Can't disconnect MAF Sensor & have the car run correctly

That sensor doesn't have a fail-safe

What does the data look like on a professional scan tool?

Are there Mode $06 Cylinder Misfires?
What does Fuel Trim tell you?
What are the O2 Sensors doing?

If you install New Spark Plugs every 3 years
New Front O2 Sensors at 100,000 miles
Clean the MAF Sensor once a year
You keep track of coil misfires 3 times a year,
& replace ALL coils over 6 years old

You problems are gone.

You have to road test with scanner & wait on the
8 I/M Monitors to run clear & I like to back probe
& scope the O2 Sensors ( out ones & new ones)

You got codes in Enhanced Data, not generic on a
code reader

Testimonial: "No misfire codes, Bank 2 sensor 1 has heater code. Fuel trim is slighty neg. If you disconnect Mass air flow sensor,in multi diplay on dash it has the message "vehicle running in fail safe". Doesn't run correctly, but it runs, and has throttle responce. Plugs, air filter and oil changed at dealer 2 months ago."

Car idles rough & wants to stall intermittantly. will run smoother with a/c on-then turn a/c off and will almost stall. Have just replaced the O2 sensor on the exhaust manifoild by the radiator for...

You have 2 faults going on this is common failure patter a idle air control and egr open, the 02 sensor was not at fault it was reporting the engine condition and had nothing to do with the stalling listen to the engine you may find a vacuum hose rupture follow it along the pcv valve you mainly have a vacuum leak or a open egr

1996 t bird 4.6l idles up and down

If it idles up and down real high, its the throttle body sensor. If it's a low up and down idle and runs rough it is mass air flow meter. If you unplug the mass airflow meter and it will just low idle (no up & down) then the mass air flow meter is bad.

C220-manual transmission. erratic idling and sometimes idles up and down. Has been serviced and throttle body cleaned but still does this. Happens more often when the engine is warm.

according to your information it's faulty mass air flow sensor, check mass air flow sensor first, when the Idle rough just disconnect the air flow sensor wiring socket if it's better than when it's connected it's faulty air flow sensor, mass air flow sensor have fitted between air cleaner housing and throttle body, you can see wiring connector been connect on it you have to turn it anticlockwise and remove it. when you fix it back do the reverse order, if it's faulty replace air flow sensor. is this information helped you?

97 buick lesabre 3.8 Idles rough and stalls out.

Fuel injectors go bad on these engines, you can find re manned ones for 30 bucks. If you have an engine light on get that read. Change your coil/wires/plugs also. Is the lower intake manifold gasket leaking coolant yet? You may want to get that replaced also. Check the TPS too (throttle positioning sensor) those will also cause your engine to act up

Rough idle

Have you had the throttle valve cleaned?

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
