Carburetor removal 454 chv engine how to 1982

Trying to remove a carburetor from our Pace Arrow motorhome with a 454 chevy engine. It is a 1982 model and we need to see how to remove it without doing the wrong thing and messing up when we put it back together. We want to take it somewhere to have it rebuilt.

There really isn't anything to mess up. Take a few digital pics of the linkage and all fittings so you can put it all back together properly. You should have to do no more than disconnect the fuel line and linkage (should be a cable, may have a cable to the transmission as well), then take the four nuts holding the carb to the intake off and lift the carb up. Some carbs have a solenoid wired to the throttle linkage -- in that case just disconnect the wire. I wouldn't send the solenoid with the carb -- take a good photo of the carb off the engine with the solenoid in place then remove the solenoid. Those few photos of everything assembles will be your life saver when reinstalling.

1994 chevy p30 motorhome 454 gas where does the engine come out of? Front? Inside ? Underneath?

If it does not have a front radiator support that unbolts and can be removed in the front then you will need to remove it out from the inside dog house cover area. We removed the transmission from the back and slid it out that way. Good luck.

1982 Pace Arrow fixit problems

I would take some digital photos. I would also ask if some of your adapters need to be removed before turning it in to the rebuilder. This is something that can get separated from the carburetor while the carb is rebuilt. BUT you do need the inlet fitting to keep the strainer in place.

Photos will also show any vacuum lines.

I have a motorhome make Honey 421S with a chevy 454. the choke light stays on, and it smells like a gas station after a ride. Consumes lots of fuel and I don't understand the vacuum system. Anyone can...

Update? If the Motorhome has a carburetor, its pretty old and has a P30 chassis. Gm makes the truck, Honey makes the camper. Check the electric choke and make sure it has power to it when the engine is running, if not check all fuses. I dont have a diagram to see where the choke gets power from. Make sure the choke pull off is working, its a little vac can on the right side of the carb, if it leaks, it wont pull the choke flap open. Anyone that works on Quadrajet Carbs can fix it for you.

1987 Fleetwood 26C motorhome is on a Ford E350 Starting Problem

if it was me i would start with a new fuel filter and some STP gas treatment if you let it sit for a long time there maybe water in the gas tank and try these websites to see if they have your motorhome listed its www.autozone.com and the other one is www.alladtadiy.com if all fails stop by your local library and get your hands on a Haynes auto repair manual for your motor home
