How often should I get a brake flush, power steering flush and fuel injection cleaning on a 2004 Saturn Vue w/129,000 miles?

you should never need a brake flush, possibly get the brakes bled if you have brake work or replace brake cylinders, master cyl ,brake lines replace, or a brake job. you also dont need power steering flush. If you have work done on the rack and pinion or the pump replaced they will add fluid as needed and bleed air from the system but you shouldnt need a flush on those items. Now for the fuel injection, our so called high tech fuel is suppose to have all those goodies in it, but if you think you need to you can go to the local auto parts store and buy fuel injector cleaner and add it to your tank of fuel every 6-8 fill ups or every two months. I personally would change my fuel filter more often rather than add injector cleaner. Gas is a great grease and grime cleaner in itself as long as it does not sit stagnant for a period of time where it will "tarnish" The idea of a fuel system is to keep it clean from debris with a filter so the spray of the injector does not get clogged or damaged. Injector cleaner only helps clean carbon and varnish deposits, it will not remove a small pin head size rock or other foreign debris, that is the filters job. So the filter is much more important.

Need to change power steering hose

it is a big job since you need ro crimp the hoses properly. I would recommend to send this to a specialist since improper fittings would mean leakage or contamination of the fluids which may lead to loss of pressure, damage or accidents.

Power steeringts been making like wining noise for the past couple of weeks but 2 days it started to make like a knocking sound

First check the fluid level.Add fluid if needed. If the sound goes away you have to look for a fluid leak.If the level is ok the pump needs replacing or to be rebuilt. The power steering hoses do have a problem with leaking with vehicles around this age.All the Jeep models do.For a shop it is not a big job to r&r a pump.Hope this helps

How do I change the power steering pump? My hands are to big to work in that area.

You must ffirst remove the passenger tire and the splash guard behind it. Its just a few screws. You will then be able to see the power steering pump. Remove the belt followed by the power steering pump hose. The pump is held in place by three screws. Remove them and put the new pump on in its place. It may be easier to install the hoses before mounting the pump. thats the tricky part. Its not hard to do at all, but you will be working in a cramped space. Put your belt on, your splash guard and tire. Now fill w/ ATF not power steering fluid (why? because the owners manual says so... don"t believe check for yourself..) Finally, start the engine and turn the wheel from left to right (all the way) about five times both ways. this works the fluid in. No need to bleed. Check the resevoir and you willl notice less. continue to add turn thw wheel until its stops dropping. Job done

Unable to remove power steering hose where it connects underneath

They make special wrenches for removing these kind of lines, there should be 2 parts to that line, a bigger nut and a smaller nut, the smaller nut threads into the bigger nut, 2 different size wrenches are needed for this removal, go to your local parts store and explain what your trying to do, these guys will sell you the proper wrenches for the job and the proper replacement part, its not a hard job but pay close attention wehere everything goes back as your removing the defective part.. good luck....
