Window on driver and passanger side dosn't go up or down level

Hello, I bought new power switches for the windows on both sides and it still dose not go up or down level. I took the door panel off and checked the window slides and they are level. So what ells could be wrong with the windows not going down or up level?

you may try removing door panel and then unbolt drive motor and see if you can manually raise window to full close then reinstall drive motor.also check regulator tracks and slide tips for wear.hope this gives you some food for thought since you seem to be able to do this..hope this idea helps since it is probably the only way to truely troubleshoot what is going on with those windows...chris

You actually want to replace the window regulator, it's not too hard to do, you have to remove the door panel, loose the tensioner, and then remove the window as well as the regulator then replace the regulator. There are some good instructions on the internet if you search. It takes about an hour or so. I just did this a couple months ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arRZbGZbffU

If neither switch works it is a bad connection at the motor or bad ground or a bad motor. Remove the door panel unplug the motor push the switch and see if there is 12volts on the wires if there is the motor is bad There are small brushes in the motor that go bad tap on the motor while pushing the switch if it works that way replace it

SOURCE: door locks and power window

Just did this procedure I got from coloradofans.com forums:

"any type of power/voltage change seems to trigger this issue

The most common symptom is power locks fail and only the driver window quits, however that is on the extended cab.

Steps to fix and it works every time.

take door panel off driver's door
Disconnect the wiring attached to window and power lock control unit
disconnect battery cables
connect the negative to the positive cable(((NO BATTERY CONNECTED)))
This will act to short residual voltage in the system

5 minutes later
place the key in the ignition and turn to the run position
connect the wiring to the window/lock controller
connect the negative cable to the battery
then the positive
open drivers side door
turn key to the off position((do not remove yet)) you should get a series of dings through speakers telling you the key is still in the ignition
once it begins dinging pull the key out and you should hear the door lock solenoids trigger and the windows should work." - Coloradofans.com forums

My passanger front window is stuck in the down position. Could this be the window switch?

The same thing happend with my 94 lesabre. I thought it was the switch but i realized that the switch was fine. I went at the junk yard and got my self a power window motor. That is proboably what is wrong with your windows. I recommend that you get yourself new or used window motors and that sould do it!

Best of luck

If you have a multimeter you can go to the underside of the master panel in the drivers door and independently check the switches for voltage or with no power to the switch assembly check for continuity. Good place to start. If you get continuity to through the switch then you need to check power to the window actuators in the doors.

Help me with my window

The right side is the passengers side does the window go down using the drivers side switch? If it doesn't work from either side switch its probably the power wire going to the down side of the switch. Check for power at the Wire on switch both sides and make sure you have power going to both up and down side, Sometimes the wires get broken in between the door and door jam, By getting pinched, Hope that helps ya out Thanks
