Question about 2000 Volkswagen Beetle
I have a 2000 VW Beetle Automatic, and the speedometer has stopped working. I have replaced the speedometer, however, this has not resolved the problem.
Do you have any ideas, could this be a simple fix or would the whole auto gearbox need to come out.
Many thanks Jeanette
Check the vehicle spped sensor on the transmission, if that does work, it may be the gear on the differential that has come apart. that gear is plastic and does break. if this is the case, there is a way to remove the differential and replace the plastic gear, not the transmission.

NOT REALLY FOR SURE BUT I THINK IT HAS A SPEED SENSOR EITHER ON THE WHEEL OR LOCATED ON THE TRANSMISSION I WOULD CHECK THOSE AREAS.
