I took my 2001 Chevy Cavalier to AutoZone they said it was a idle air control valve that showed up bad on the computer would that have the same symptoms as a throttle position sensor the jerking

First there is no fault code that tells you to replace any particular part, you must do the troubleshooting for the code or codes received, never take advice from a minimum wage parts person at Autozone, they just want to sell you parts, they are not trained technicians and should not hand out advice that costs you money and wasted time, not to mention you can't return electrical parts.

Want to know what codes mean i have no build sheet or window sticker have code numbers off spare tire cover

Yes, they tell you what is built into the car. Called RPO codes. Look up RPO codes online with you particular vehicle.

2009 f150 TPMS fault

When the sensors were replaced and they did a reset. They should have told you the problem. They should have told you up front, instead of charging you for sensors. The BCM isn't reading the signal from the sensors. Find another place to go. I hate point and fix mechanics. Sensor fault? replace all the sensors... It didn't say one tire, it says sensor fault. Have the codes read. They should have done this. To get rid of the message on the DIC, you have to unplug it. But this gets rid of all messages you would get. Pull the IP and take it apart to unplug.

2002 x type jaguar, shows "gear box fault" will not start

Then why are you here,so we can guess at
the battery issue ?

You always start with the battery in all testing
situations, regardless of what your told

If you working on suspension, brakes or tire work,
then you forget the battery, obviously

Once you have a good battery, then your check for
OBD Fault Codes

Your car won't start, problem, maybe just the battery

The trans issue, once your past the battery & the motor
runs, you check all data, road test & then get on with module
codes & the trans problem, if there is one

A failed battery will leave lots of wrong info in the systems

Replaced spark plugs, got horrible gas mileage afterwards, check engine light came on, so mechanic said I needed a speed sensor and this was probably causing sluggish in gas pedal and bad gas mileage, now...

unless the mechanic ran the fault codes to be decisive in the diagnostics then anything he says is just guess work. The check engine light means that something is wrong with the system and the codes will reveal that . Have a pressure test done on the fuel manifold to check for pump--regulator and filter problems.

I have nissam altima 2005 and it turned off in middle of the road today and then it showed battery sign but it was showing service engine sign from two days. when i went to autozone today then check...

Stay away from autozone. Go to a reputable garage, and tell them if you intend to fix it yourself. For a fdew bucks you can have a real mechanic diagnose it, and be sure you are fixing the correct thing, not just tossing parts at it, as they love you to do at the zone. If the engine was still running when the battery light came on , this sounds like an intermittant charging problem Have your battery and charging system professionally checked. It could also be caused bt the belt slipping, for instance if it was wet, or the steering was held on one of the stops, in a sharp turn. P0335 is indeed a crankshaft sensor code and should be checked and replaced if neccessary.Appears that there is an updated sensor, and it's very hard to plug in. Let me know if I can help furthur.

Hi, I took my 02 saturn to see why it was idling rough and misfiring, they told me I had a code of p1599. can you tell me what I need to buy to fix this problem? my ca has never stalled.

p1599 refers to TPS (throttle position sensor) Stop by a local parts store (Advance, Autozone, etc) and have them do a free fault scan for you.

First I was told it was the EGR valve then was told that I have low compression in the 4th cylander but it would cost me the price of a diagnostic test to truly know. he did one to get the EGR fault code...

after installing the EGR he should have cleared the computer of codes. then when you run the engine, any new fault codes will show up.
but here is a tip for you. you can go to any autozone or orielys parts stores and the will read the codes for free and tell you what your problem may be. from ther you may need further diagnostics at the shop

I have a 2008 jetta. Yesterday I found I can not use the cruise control. And I go to the autozone to check the car-computer, they told me the it show the code is "005784 - Please Check DTC Memory of...

No its not relevant having a bulb out , now as for the cruise then this is a fault somewhere with a memory chip ,and the way i would test for this is to use my automotive test meter and check the voltages coming to the relevant sensors as on a europeon model i would stand no chance of reading the OBDII on such a new car
