Drivers seat will not go forward or back when switch engaged a wering sound but no movement
SOURCE: 1994 crown vic, power seat,
If you are saying it works if you fool with control switch the the switch assy is at fault, if that is not the case you will need a new seat transmission assy, it is a fairly invovled job to replace either of these parts, the trans is about a 2 hour job, I would try to locate a used part, there are lots of them out there in wrecking yards, 94 Vic's were produced in large numbers.

Replace the switch if you don't have power coming out of the switch when you the back button.
SOURCE: electric seat motor switch...no move back
Cross the wires...from the switch to the motors...since the switch works one way, but not the other. Instead if cutting cable/wire, try a jumper (another wire) and cross the connection at the plug to the switch. I have same problem...I reversed switch as mentioned above, to move seat back.
SOURCE: Power Seat Control does not move the seat front or back
Try tapping the power seat frame with a hammer to unbind the motor .
SOURCE: 2008 Ford Expedition - Drivers
The motor and gears in the track are getting stuck.Either a weak motor or gears stuck.
Try this procedure as follows;---
Have somebody sit in the back and push the seat forwards at the frame while
you push the button forwards.Don't push at the headrest but as low as possible
To avoid getting stuck again don't put the seat all the way backwards, just
move it forwards ahead to get the tension of the track/motor.
--------
But if the seat get pushed forward but if its still doing the same then its weak motor and it has to be replaced. But if its not getting pushed forward to its last. Then its bent tracks from which the seat moves. The tracks needs to be checked from which the seat moves back and forth.
The owners manual says about power seats. "It states that if the power seat doesnt't work, put the seat back section of the seat down to it's lowest position a couple of times. This somehow resets the body module for the driver seat."

This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.
