I don't know what you mean by, "I plugged it back up". Did you mean that the harness unplugged or that a wire came out of the plug? Inspect the fuse-box. Look for a blown fuse. You can try disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds. If the stock stereo has the anti-theft feature, remember to disable it first. If a wire did in fact break away then you will need to do more than just push the wire back into place. Please write back with any questions or status, good luck.

I got a 2000 gmc Jimmy no start, no spark and diagnostic computer says no link or communication from pcm. Any ideas? I did check all the fuses and the wiring to the distributor, crank sensor, ignition...

If vehicle has been submerged, PCM is likely dead. If vehicle has been struck by lightning, PCM could be locked up or dead. Assuming none of these has happened:
Check power to PCM, not just fuses. You can check through the backside of the connectors ON the PCM.
Check connectors on PCM.
Check ground to PCM.
Make sure you've had no rodent activity on vehicle wiring.
Reset PCM by disconnecting battery (+) lead, waiting 15 seconds, then grounding battery (+) to battery (-) lead. Reconnect battery (+) lead to battery. All user memory sets such as radio and seat settings will be lost.
With no output from PCM, after resetting, the highest probability is dead PCM. It's rare, but it happens.

Pcm problem

That is definitely a no-no and the PCM is probably damaged! The PCM connectors are color coded and you should not be able to connect the plugs to the wrong sockets. But since you have pulled at least one, you should disconnect the battery and check each connector for bent pins, and that all of them are properly seated and in the right places. Then, try again to start the truck. If it still doesn't start, you will probably need a new PCM programmed to your vehicle's VIN.

1996 Gmc Jimmy, new battery, new alternator, alternator to starter wire ohms 0.1 but is still not charging. Just had shift seloniod B issue addressed and now this. Should I start looking a grounding...

You have a fuseable link at the battery positive terminal. Its a 5 guage.Go to the battery obviusly you will measure on the positvie side battery voltage,Move to the alternaltor there you should measure battery voltage,There is a total of three wire to the alternator, One goes to the battery which is cannected by a fusable link, The other two One is positive and goes to the PCM it should be the small red one.The other one right next to itgrey this is the field it is grounded by the PCM If the PCM doesnt ground this wire you will need a PCM. The old fashion ways still applies we use to ground the field to check that the voltage regulator is working, But in todays car PCM all does that. Your best bet ground the Field it will be marked F it cahrges replaces PCM. Or just measure your ground it it exceeds .05vlts a PCM is needed

I have a 95 gmc jimmy i replaced the fuel pump and changed the wires plugs rotor and cap now it wont start

Hi, Were the parts replaced due to a no start condition? Is there a trouble code stored in the PCM or an engine light on? How many miles are on the truck?

96 jimmy replaced the dist. cap now wont start no spark at the coil???

Double check to make sure your rotor is cliped into the right place. It should have a slot it slides into. Also check to make sure the cap was not put on crooked and bend a tab or broke the rotor or broke the steel tab off the rotor. Also check to make sure that you did not accidently unhook any wires to the distributor.

2001 GMC Jimmy with a 4.3L V6 auto trans. Will not turn over

The starter relay may have a bad connection, this is where your battery connects, and a power wire runs to the starter, also these have a ignition wire which is approx 14-16 gauge wire. The relay could be cracked or the contacts inside are going bad. But the other is the neutral safety switch that you mention. I would check these first.
