Capabilities of a jetta re weight

Primary issue: the car must be able to carry 200-300 lbs lift for wheelchair on roof. Can a jetta with standard issue engine carry this? Or will it zap all the power is it does with other v4s? (And ultimately age car faster) Can the TDI handle this?

Thanks!

The engine will have no problem with the extra weight. The problem may be the shocks. May want to upgrade the shocks if they are still stock.

Towing weight calculator

The GVWR on each axle is a given number not calculated. If you exceed the weight, then suspension problems will cause some instability. Towing capacity is dependent on amount of horse power and torque in ft.lbs., Standard or automatic trans, braking capacity and strength of the suspension parts.

92 jetta lift

HI,
Get an engine heater and ask @ the auto shops what the do for DIESELS in the winter. As far as lifting you're unlikely to find anything. Make sure you have good snow tires and carry chains and a shovel. You should probably look for an AWD car or truck.

What is the load capacity of a voyager minivan? I need to carry 1000 lbs of tile. Can I do it in a Voyager?

Another way of answering your question if to see how many people can it take. Add up their weights (in lbs) and see if it exceeds 1000 lbs. If it does then you can carry 1000 lbs of tiles else you can not. I think you can because 1000 lbs is less than 1/2 ton. Any car can carry that much. Its a Voyager. It will.

I have a 1997 gmc 2500hd how much weight can it carry

That is the GM designation for a 3/4 ton so you would be allowed to carry 1500 lbs. Any more than that and you are on your own. The HD just means that the suspension has been overbuilt a little to handle the payload. Hope this helps.

I would like to know if I could pull a holiday trailor that weighs in at 3600 lbs loaded?

Standard towing capicity is 2360 lbs with the 4 cyl motor and towing capicity is 5760 lbs with the 6 cylinder motor.

When towing that kind of weight you need to be careful you don't overheat the transmission or burn up the brakes.

Towing capacity for an Isuzu I370 pickup

As listed in the owners manual.

Weight of the Trailer
How heavy can a trailer safely be?
It depends on how you plan to use your rig. For
example, speed, altitude, road grades, outside
temperature and how much your vehicle is used to
pull a trailer are all important. It can also depend
on any special equipment that you have on
your vehicle, and the amount of tongue weight the
vehicle can carry. See “Weight of the Trailer
Tongue” later in this section for more information.
Maximum trailer weight is calculated assuming
only the driver is in the tow vehicle and it has all
the required trailering equipment. The weight
of additional optional equipment, passengers and
cargo in the tow vehicle must be subtracted
from the maximum trailer weight.
The following charts show how much your trailer
can weigh, based upon your vehicle model
and options.
2WD Extended Cab Axle Ratio Maximum Trailer Weight GCWR*
Automatic Transmission,
2.9 L Engine 3.73 3,100 lbs (1 406 kg) 7,000 lbs (3 175 kg)
Manual Transmission,
2.9L Engine 3.73 2,100 lbs (952 kg) 6,000 lbs (2 721 kg)
4WD Crew Cab Axle Ratio Maximum Trailer Weight GCWR*
Automatic Transmission,
3.7L Engine 3.73 4,000 lbs (1 814 kg) 9,000 lbs (4 082 kg)
*The Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) is the total allowable weight of the completely loaded
vehicle and trailer including any passengers, cargo, equipment and conversions. The GCWR for your
vehicle should not be exceeded.
