Question about 2005 Ford Freestyle
When accelerating it makes a louder sound
That is a sign of a wheel bearing going bad. To check jack up the wheel where the sound seems to be comeing from and grab top and bottom of wheel and wiggle to see if there is any sloppyness in the wheel. If there is then you have found the problem. If not try another wheel till all are checked out.

Most likely it's a wheel bearing going out.., If you turn to the right, or the left when driving the noise will change pitch. Been there done that.....

could be a worn out belt tensioner pulley,if it is dont let it go too long,it could spit the belt off.The tensioner pulley is about $20.00+ but cant really say without hearing it,could be a number of things,to know for sure spray wd40 on the bearing-if it quiets down then replace it.

You have a defective wheel bearing most likely, the noise sounds correct for that problem. have a shop drive it before you replace anything to confirm my guess.
