It can be done by a backyard mechanic as long as you have the tools and the knowledge but if not, leave it up to a qualified mechanic as you can end up with a bigger bill if you don't do it right

My 2006 ford five hundred gas throttle seems to get stuck when at a stand still. my foot is on the brake. it acts if it will move forward and does often. what could the problem be?

Check this out: the auto trans has a servo pack in it, this controls the trans at stop to kick out of gear and not try to pust or continue to drive forward. This is hard to explain to you i have done this procedure many times, the servo pack controls the trans to kick up and down between gears and when you come to a stop it also controls the trans that you are at idle, stand still, if the car wants to move forward that is most likely the problem. This is a very hard part to replace, if you haven't done somthing like this before, take it to a trans shop, not a general mechanic shop.

Would it be hard for a backyard mechanic to install a transmission on a 2000 chevy blazer

With a good shop manual, a transmission isn't hard to do. The biggest concern of a backyard transmission swap is man handling the transmission up and down. If you have the ability to get your blazer up on jack stands, and have access to a transmission jack, you should be good to go. I recommend a subscription to :

For about $20, you will have a good guide for the job.

2000 dodge neon idles fine but when in gear it chokes. Changed plugs and air filter.

Start the car in park when it is running go to reverse back up 10-15 ft then go to drive if it goes forward but won't shift out of 1st gear then it is a trans mision problem not a fuel delivery problem.

If you have an auto trans, and it is stuck in 1st or 2nd gear here is a link that might help there are 13 parts to the video.

Tcc solenoid code

I don,t reccommend doing this your self as the k-frame will need dropped and the trans case will need split to access the solenoid also when I have to do this I will not do it on the ground I use a lift or I dont do it.

2002 neon trans pressure swithc code P08884

you might just need a new sensor im not sure of the exact location of it though but i do know on most dodge vehicles and definatly neons that whenever a trans code is comming up the car will go into a "saftey mode'' where the car wont get full power, this is to basically baby the engine and trans untill you get it to a mechanic. I would recomend when taking it to the dealer to have it looked at put the car in third gear instead of drive and take it easy on the gas
