Hi, I have a 1999 Saturn SC2 and my service engine light came on. I did a diagnostic on it and the code showed P1133. The guy at the auto shop told me it's an oxygen sensor, but didn't know if it was the...

First, I wouldn't let that guy work on your car. P1133 is "O2 Sensor Slow Response - Sensor 1" Anybody that has been in the auto repair business for more than a week should know that Sensor 1 is ALLWAYS the FRONT sensor.

Note: O2 sensor codes do not necessarily mean that an O2 sensor needs to be replaced. Most O2 Sensor codes are caused by something other than the O2 Sensor itself. (there are several different possible O2 Sensor codes for your car. P0131, P0132, P0133, P0134, P0138, P0171, P0172, P1133, P1134)

The most likely cause of DTC (Diagnostic TroubleCode) P1133 is contamination of the O2 Sensor. Replacing a contaminated O2 Sensor without repairing the source of the contamination will only result in a repeat repair. It could be caused by bad fuel, improper use of RTV sealant, engine oil or engine coolant. I have seen this caused many times by engine oil leaks that run down the exhaust and clog the holes in the side of the sensor shield. (The sensor must "breathe" to work properly)

Then on the other hand, if your vehicle has a lot of miles on it, the sensor could be just chemically worn out. In any case, the FRONT sensor is the one that is setting the code.

What does o2 sensour heater circuit bank 1 sensor 1 code mean?

It means you have a bad oxygen sensorThe way you know witch one is bank 1 is the cloest o2 sensor to the front of the vehicleits in the y pipe likely on the drivers side that would be bank 1 sensor # 1 if the closest one to the front is on the other side then that would be bank 1 sensor # 1

What side is my o2 sensor (bank 1 sensor 1) on for 03 nissan pathfinder se with engine facing front. i need to replace it but i dont know which side to purchase.

Bank one is on the side of cylinder one. Cylinder one is typically on the driver side. Although, you have to be careful here. Just because the code mentioned the O2 sensor doesn't mean the sensor is bad. For instance, a code of P0171: sensor indicates lean, bank one sensor; one is not a bad sensor. That is a good sensor telling you that the engine is running lean on bank one. If you get a different code, then it could the be the sensor.

My 2003 range rover hse came back with a code p1107 - front heated os sensor was basically stuck. I wanted to purchase the o2 sensor from an aftermarket site but did not know the exact part I should get....

Look at the left and right exhaust manifolds for your front o2 sensors they will be before your converter and to get the right one measure the wire from the sensor to the connector thats your length, also if yours has two front o2's go ahead and replace both since the front o2's do most of the work.

Bad o2 sensor at back

LIKE I TELL MY CUSTOMERS...FOR STARTERS YOU NEED BRAKES BECAUSE IF IT DOESNT STOP IT DOESNT MATTER.IF THE O2 SENSOR IS BAD THAT WILL THROW OFF THE WHOLE EMMISSIONS SYSTEM.WHICH CAN CLOG YOU INJECTORS,RUIN YOUR PLUGS,CAUSE YOUR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON ECT.YOUR COMPUTER KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM & THE CAR WONT RUN WELL UNTIL ITS FIXED.STEP 1- BRAKES,02 SENSOR,TUNE UP,OIL CHANGE....WHATEVER ELSE YOU NEED.I KNOW IT STINKS.,JUST DO IT ONCE & DO IT RIGHT.

Chrysler LHS o2 sensor testing

If u know u have a bad o2. I guess u must have used a scanner or equivalent. There are 4 o2s on LHS. The way u can tell the difference is by the # sequence that the failure code is giving u. For example the o2s on the right side are even # on the left odd #. Pre cat is 1 after cat is 2. So if u have bad 2/2 Than u know it's right rear or a bad 1/1 is left front ect ect. First make sure u have the right code. With out a scanner. it can be done with a volt meter or a vantage, but it's a heck of a lot easier pulling the codes.
