Clicking noise passenger side door

When the air is turned on there is a clicking noise coming from the feet of the passenger side. Worker at Autozone told me it was the blend door actuator. Does this need to be replaced? thanks

Yes it is slipping due to a likely warped ait temperature control blend door. The noise is caused by the tiny motor drive gear drive jumping teeth because it can't move the door.

Hi Don'a, here is a temporary solution; until the linkage is replaced. Make sure your heater is in dual mode and not turned up all the way. Then only use the face setting and close the driver vents. This will allow heat to circulate and not blow cold air onto the driver. If you use the floor setting or the defrost setting then the driverside takes over and it blows cold air. Good luck. In the mean time look at some of the other posts about this issue for part #. And if you have a mechanic that can work on it, he will probably be cheaper than the dealership.

What makes a Clicking noise coming from dash board on the passenger side?

Possibly an actuator in your HVAC system. There are actuators to move the blend door, mode door, recirc door, and possibly others depending on your HVAC options (climate control, dual control, etc). With your car running, can you change the temperature from cold to hot and back, and can you direct airflow to floor, defrost, and dash vents? When you select recirculate (max a/c), can you hear the change? If you have problems with any of these, you may need to replace an actuator or one of the doors may be jammed.

I'll just take a wild step and assume that this is on a GM vehicle, SUV or truck most likely.

Your problem is what is referred to as the blend door actuator. Its a little electrical motor that rotates a little door that mixes hot and cold air. The passenger side one is bad. You probably also hear an annoying little "ticking noise" from beneath the dash on start up or power up. That is the blend door being stuck. Good luck!

When I turn on airconditioner cold air comes out on passenger side and hot asir on drivers side. What should I do

Could be a problem with the control or a blend door.
A mechanic would check the blend doors under the dash for movement.

My heater/ac unit will not turn to heat all it will do is make a clicking noise

Your blend door actuator is stripping it's gears. You may be able to see the actuator by looking under the dash above the passenger's feet. The actuator looks like the picture below. If you can, take the connector off and unscrew the actuator from the heater box. Make sure the door will rotate by hand. If it does, replace the actuator. The part is $36 at autozone. If the door is jammed, you may have to remove the heater box to repair the door. That would be a big job...
Let me know if you have any questions.

My air conditioning works, that is, the air is

Check under the hood on the passenger side, look for a vacuum line that goes into the fire wall, check that it has vacuum to it, that what gives it the power for the vents.

AC unit blows cold on passenger side and warm on driver side.

There are separate blend doors for the passenger and driver's side. The blend doors divert, not block air, so it is unlikely that the blend doors are the problem. You need to check the operation of the re-circ door.
There may be some more duct work that attaches to the heat/air conditioning housing under the dash, that supplies air and or heat to both the driver side and passenger side of the car, the duct work on the driver side may have come disconnected.Check this also.
Hope this helps

200 Jeep Laredo..Air is cold and fan is blowing,

there is a blend door actuator for the laredo and if is bad the air wont come out here is a pic of what it looks like and how to get to it

The single zone heater-A/C system is equipped with a single blend door actuator. The dual zone system has two blend door actuators, one for the driver side blend-air door and one for the passenger side blend-air door.
  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the glove box from the instrument panel.
  3. Remove the three screws that secure the blend door actuator to the passenger side of the HVAC air distribution housing .
  4. Remove the blend door actuator from the air distribution housing and disconnect the HVAC wire harness connector from the actuator.
  5. Remove the blend door actuator from the vehicle
to instal
  1. Position the blend door actuator into the vehicle.
  2. Install the blend door actuator onto the passenger side of the HVAC air distribution housing . If necessary, rotate the actuator slightly to align the splines on the actuator output shaft with those on the blend door cam .
  3. Install the screws that secure the blend door actuator to the passenger side of the air distribution housing . Tighten the screws to 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
  4. Connect the HVAC wire harness connector to the blend door actuator.
  5. Install the glove box into the instrument panel.
  6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

1999 cadillac Deville cold air blowing out passenger side vents

Sounds like a Blend door issue, but could be the controller switch, Test ALL modes of operation to see what works and what does not. That should narrow it down a bit. The Blend doors are flap/ doors that regulate air flow, newer vehicles are plastic - electric assemblies ...prone to failure. Any clicking or thumping noises during switching modes and on-off suggest a bad Blend door. Hope that helps...good luck
