I suggest taking the car to a garage and having them check it and get an estimate for repairs

2007chev.5.3 oil consumtion at ues 3 q. over iol in 3000m.

I have read of this before. And although that is a very high volume I understand that this engine is "expected" to consume an amount between changes. Just google the problem and you will find.

However, if it is truly "consuming" the oil,and not leaking, then unfortunately it usually is internal wear.

One simple repair attempt would be to replace the PCV valve and breather filter ,if equipped. Call your local parts store to find out if you have them.

Other than that you will most likely need to have a repair center test the engine for compression loss from ring wear or valve guides/seals worn.

Neither of those would be an easy or inexpensive repair.

I'm not a professional mechanic but just have many years of working on cars.

Good luck!

C180 kompressor 2002 model, power steering makes a noise.Less noise if the iol level is very low. There is a slight leak and I am thinking that it **** air and causes the noise. However it is also di

The noise is the result of air bubbles in the system due to low fluid level, if allowed to continue without repairing the leak the pump will be destroyed.

I have a 2003 Ford Taurus thats leaking iol somewhere from the front of the engine. I cannot locate the leak as oil is getting on the pully's and serpetine belt and sparaying everywhere. I is not...

clean the area real good with soapy water, go down to parts store and ask for an oil dye. Then all you have to do is poor it in the oil, start the car and let run for a few minutes then hit the area with a black light. The leak will light up like christmas

hi from uk if it was my car i would investigate this oil leak whether it is leaking whilst running or not either way if leak is bad? you could end up with more expense if engine seizes crankshaft or other components? the fact you mention this is 2007 model and hyundai warranty in uk is 5yrs i would visit dealers ? if this is a reccuring problem with this engine ? they should have recall for check/repair however! you have nothing to lose with a visit i would have leak verified 1st before you risk expense in some serious damage ? this may turn out to be something simple ? oil filter not tightened correctly?? for example oil leaks start small but do get worse sometimes with warninguntill light /guage tells you which may be on a busy highway in heavy traffic again with result i am sure you can imagine ? do the right thing and have it checked ! a stitch in time ? ring any bells ??

Low iol pressure light coming on

could be a sensor. Need to put a gauge on there and check the oil pressure, If ok, replace the sensor. If you have low oil pressure at idle, it is likely the oil pump is shot or the pick up screen is clogged with debris. In either case, this is going to require major repairs.
