Any idea what's wrong diagnostic shows factory reset fail, as between 92/89

Usually on computer resets with factory specs. If they fail it is because of an internal problem. I work on many computers, mostly cars. When the factory reset fails it is because the computer your trying to reset, has a problem. When I trace it back to a main chip. I throw it away.

Where is computer reset buttton for 2003 dodge stratus rt? I had heater core changed and everything worked fine until we took dash off and put it back....now it wont start? It tries to but acts like not...

There is not a computer reset button installed on the car anywhere you need to have a computer that connects to the ecu on the car (the cars computer) with the computer attached you can reset codes or reset the computer.

Changed out battery now we need to reset computer

On most vehicles if you leave the battery disconnected for 3 hrs the computer will reset. This is enough time for the power back up in the computer to go dead and reset itself. I know it sounds stupid, but it works. Should make check engine light turn off

2001 Jetta TDI: reset the computer on a jetta...

Take off the battery cables. Touch the positive and negative together for 10 seconds. Reattach the positive first and then the negative. Your computer will be reset to factory settings. Idle will be better, cruise will work and air will be fine at the idle position.

Codes need to be reset in my cars computer?

if you had it replaced it should have already been set however you can reset your cars computer by taking the positive battery cable off the battery and waiting 2-3 min and then touching the positive cable from the car to the negative cable which is still attached to the neg post on the battery for about 5 sec and the hooking it back up. that will reset the computer which would configure any new sensors. when the computer reads a bad code it bypasses that sensor so your car will run. it wont run to the best of its ability though - that's why you didn't pass an inspection. when you replaced the sensor the computer didn't notice because it already stopped reading that sensor when it went bad and doesnt know about the new one. when you reset the computer as i told you then it will read the new sensor and work properly.
