Need more info. If you are driving at high speed in low gear that is really bad and will ruin the vehicles engine and transmission. Not sure if you are doing that, but your question needs some details to help me diagnose

I have a 2014 CTS. When traveling downhill with cruise control engaged, the car will downshift 2 or 3 gears causing the rpm to run up over 4000. Is this normal operation for these cars?

This is normal if you are going up hill but if you go down hill there should be very little work for the engine and transmission to do.
Going up hill as the engine starts to pull it is normal to kick into a lower gear to give the car more pulling power. If it does it in the down hill mode you should get it checked like low fluid or something.

Why wont my 1990 geo tracker will not go into gear

Has to be a clutch problem,either a sticky clutch plate out of adjustment,if it is a hydralic clutch it could be low on fluid or have air in line. If it has a clutch cable reduce the free travel at the clutch fork to 1/4 in. Travel.

Crunching when changing gears on a pajero

check the oil level of the gearbox, if level is low or oil is too thin will cause it to crunch. put an 80w90 gear oil into it if needs fill or change/ also check the clutch is fully disengaged. maybe clutch hydraulics have air in the system, this will reduce the travel of the clutch fork and not fully disengage the clutch. to see if its the clutch hydraulics select 1st gear push in the clutch and start the engine, if it starts to creep forward check out the hydraulics. if all this ok, prob be the synchro rings internal in the gearbox

Most likely a clutch problem. What, if anything, has changed recently? Does the clutch have 25 years of use, or has it been replaced? Is there some "free play" at the top of the clutch pedal travel? If not, you might try adjusting the clutch pedal to bell housing linkage to create such travel, just to make sure you are getting all the clutch pressure that its pressure plate can provide.
It slips in low gear because that uses the most engine force to accelerate from a stop. As you shift up, you minimize the clutch load because you wait until the engine is revved up, indicating the acceleration load between shifts is not too great. In the highest gears you are driving at highway speed using very little power from the engine to maintain that speed. If you come to a slight upgrade, not enough to require downshifting, you add extra load, again more that the worn clutch can pass through to the axle.
Do you "slip" the clutch or "ride it" when starting or driving? We minimize clutch wear by using the lowest gear that allows the truck to start without using the fuel pedal. This may be how and why you wore out your clutch.
If you can't help the problem by adjusting the external linkage, you most likely need to replace the clutch. If you are unsure, try having a competent truck mechanic evaluate it first.

Where is the low pressure valve located on my 2006 Ford 500? Trying to add R143a.

Dont know your car exactly but, it will be the valve on the pipe comming from the condenser (front radiator) back to the compressor. Thats the low pressure side of the circuit. Heated gas is cooled in condenser then sucked into compressor and compressed into liquid state. Travels under pressure (high side) to evaporater, inside car, where it boils into gas absorbing heat, and is then directed back to condenser to cool off.

Hello I have a toyota mr2 86 and the coolant is boiling inside of the overflow container and there is small coolant drip from radiator in front of car. In need of suggestions

I guarantee you, the water is not boiling in the reservoir. There is no heat source there, and even if it came out of the radiator boiling, by the time the coolant traveled down the hose to the tank, it would have lost too much heat to boil.

But if steam is coming out of your radiator into that tank, it would look like it was boiling.

It sounds like you have a radiator leak, and that you are therefore low on coolant, and the engine is overheating. With the car stone cold, open the radiator cap and top off the coolant as full as you possibly can, then replace the cap. While you have the cap in your hand, inspect the rubber gasket that seals it when it is installed. If that gasket is not in good shape, the normal operating pressure will force coolant into the radiator excessively, leaving not enough to cool the engine.

After a short drive that is sufficient to reach operating temperature plus about 5 or 10 minutes, and then allowing the car to fully cool, open the radiator to see if it is still full. It should have developed no substantial amount of space above the coolant surface, it should still be full.

If there is space, perhaps there was some vapor trapped somewhere, so try one more time. But if you are developing space in the radiator, you have a leak.

Your friend may be right,The Dakota made from 1997 to 2003 all had issues with the catalytic converters going bad,I have a 2001 and have had to get mine replace 3 times already.
