SOURCE: Car won't stay running.

alternator does not hold a charge it simply charges the battery by unhooking the battery you are taking all voltage from computer and car will not run the proper way to test your alternator is use a multimeter and check voltage at battery while car is running if you have 13-14 volts it should be fine.

There is not any type of security that will keep you from getting in the glove box. If you unlocked it with the key and it won't open the latch is broken.

SOURCE: 97 cadillac deville

you either have a bad key...did you try more than one key?
Two other things can be wrong..
1) the igintion cylnder (where ya put the key in) has samll wires that sense the pellet in the keys for your car, and often they break, and the cylnder has to be replaced.
2) the passkey module has gone bad.
Either of these problems can be fixed by any compatent mechanic that has cadillac experience.

How do i change the fuel pump on a 2007 F350 super duty 6.0 diesel

siphon gas out drop the tank undo the harness twist the retaining ring pull pump. install in reverse.

probably be easier to just pull the truck bed off. usually requires unbolting 4-8 bolts holding bed on from inside the floor of bed. unhooking wiring harnwess and unhooking gas tank filler neck from hose leading to tank. you will need help of at least 3 others to pull the bed unless you devise a lift or a stand for your bed to sit on. think of it like a semi truck unhooking from a trailer. bed stays put truck moves forward. replace pump and back up under the bed and reattach. good luck

The fuel pump is going bad on my 1996 olds ninety eight. What I need to know is how long it will take my remove the take and the correct procedure to remove the tank.

make sure you have as little gas in the tank as possible, unplug tank , usually up near top or tank if possible , unhook gas fill tube from fuel door area , (screws usually inside fuel door), unhook fuel lines from tank closest to the tank as possible, place jack under fuel tank and slightly tighten to tank, release tank straps and lower jack, roll out free from under vehicle and remove pump from tank, reverse process to reassemble.

The pump keeps clicling like my tank is full but its not?

we are seeing this a lot more often, what you have going on is that as you put fuel in the tank you have to displace the air in the tank to allow fuel in, in the old days they just vented the tanks to the air but now with all the emission laws they are not allowed to do this any more. so all cars now have a purge system that vents the fuel tank. and if that system is not working then there is no way of venting the air from the tank in order to let you put fuel in. one of two things have happened either the vent valve is bad or stuck or the purge canister is plugged, the valve is on the top of the fuel tank and the canister is mounted right beside the fuel tank. in either case it will take some testing of the system, you can unhook the large hose from the canister and put in a few gallons to see if it cures the problem but you cant leave it unhooked or fuel will leak out, if you can put fuel in ok with the hose unhooked the replace the canister if not remove tank and replace the vent valve.

Need help on how to install new fuel pump for my 1999 buick.

First you need to raise the car off the ground as high as you can, all 4 corners and support it with jack stands, secound get as much gas as you can out of tank( you may have to siphen it out from where rubber hose from filler tube connects to tank) be carefull depending on how much gas is in the tank it could run out there, third unhook all fuel lines and electrical connections and maybe drop exhaust, and fourth unhook the straps that hold the tank in, its best to get some help when you drop the tank. Once the tank is out you will see a lockring that holds the unit with the fuel lines and electrical connections in the tank, you have to turn with a small hammer and chizzle or maybe a old screwdriver, it should be strate forward after that, there should be instructions with the new pump on how to install it.

How to replace fule pump 1994 ols 98 regency

You know the pump is located inside the gas tank right? First car has to be up on jack stands, secound you have to get as much gas as you can out of tank for weight purposes, third all electrical connections have to be unhooked, and fuel lines have to be unhooked and filler tube unhooked, and maybe exhaust droped, and last the straps that hold tank in. Now its best to have some help to do this, because if you can't get the gas out it will be heavy( 8# a gal. it adds up), and also its akward. Good luck.

Bad fuel pump

you have to drop the gas tank in order to change out the pump

1 take the straps loose thata hold the tank
2 put a jack under the tank to hold it as you allow it to come down
3 unhook the lines that run to the tank as well as the wiring harness
4 unhook the fill tank hose
5 lower the tank to the floor
6 remove the O ring that holds the pump in the tank
7 pull the old fuel pump out and put the new one in the same way the old one came out.
8 the rest you do in reverse order.
