Service engine light blinking

Hello
When the service engine soon light a yellow light (Also called the check engine light or engine management light) is turned on this is to alert you to the fact that Powertrain Control Module (computer) has detected a failure somewhere in the systems it controls you may not feel any difference in the way the engine runs, this can be the transmission or the engine or emission system, there are fault codes set in the modules memory for these faults. What needs to happen now is to have the powertrain control module scanned with a special tool called an OBD2 electronic engine control scanner or a OBD2 code reader. Once the code(s) are read then you must perform the diagnostics for each code and make the appropriate repairs based on the findings of the diagnosis that was performed, this is called doing "Pinpoint" testing.

Blinking check engine light

its most likely an ignition coil. you are probably getting a spike in the electrical system. my lincoln ls does the same thing sometimes. the check engine light wiill blink for awhile then stop, and eventually it will stay on and run rough. every single time it turned out to be an ignition coil.

I have a 1990 acura intergra ls 4 cyl, dohc... the fuel pump is pumping, i replaced the fuel filter. i checked to see if the distrubutor has spark, it all checked out ok. the spark was a little weak but...

Check your fuel pressure, if its good than you might need a ignition coil its inside the distributor. If you can pull back the passenger side carpet under the dash and you will see a little square gold in color aprox. 10" by 14" this is your ECU turn ignition to on position and count the blinks like morse code short blinks are series of 1 and long blonks are series of 10 so if 3 long blinks and two short ecu is throwing a code 32, somtimes you will only get short blinks and it will go until mid 70 but count the blinks until you get a repeat of the same code or codes, We can diagnose exact problem then.

Could be a broken motor mount. Not uncommon to break one. However, for it to shake badly you may have just broken a second motor mount.

If the service center is close by, I would likely take the chance and drive it. I just wouldn't accelerate hard - and I would be very gentle. That is just my opinion - can't be "for sure" without knowing more.

Good luck.

Have the fuel pressure checked- this would determine if your fuel pump is working properly. Its really easy if you have a gauge. you might be able to rent one at a part store. or it could need a new fuel filter
