Vibration in stearing wheel from engine while parked is this normal have two with same problem

No it's not. Usually a moderate vibration in park or neutral is a bad motor mount or transmission mount.

I believe that I have either a bad transmission mount or mounts, and possible a bad motor mount or mounts because the car vibrates in drive while running and also vibrates in neutral while running but not...

Get a friend to open the hood and look at the engine go up or down in the engine compartment when the brakes are firmly applied and switching between reverse and drive. Look for the motor mounts for behavior where tears exist in the rubber.

The car vibrates when in drive while at a stop. What would cause this ?

Vibration at idle brings to mind a few suspects:

transmission mount(s) broken/missing
transmission internally worn
motor mount(s) broken/missing

(1) transmission internally worn or transmission mount broken/missing - test this by shifting into neutral at the next stop light. If the vibration disappears when you disengage the transmission, then the transmission is the source of the vibration. You'll have to inspect the transmission mounts - if they're ok, then the transmission is internally worn and can no longer smoothly "slip" while idling in drive.
(2) motor mount broken/missing - also test this by shifting into neutral at the next stop light. If the vibration persists, then the transmission is exonerated, and the vibration is coming from (under) the engine. The rubber part of motor mounts commonly crack/break and or pop out and are lost.

Got a 93 Exporer Sport, check engine light on, car does not have power at times and surges, now it vibrates when at red light and has horrible rattle from underneath.

is the check engine flashing when its vibrating? if you its an indication you have a engine miss . the danger of running the car too long with a engine miss is it could brake your catilic converter. that gets pricey. if you have done a tune up in the last 100k that includes new spark plugs and wires please do so now. before you cause any damage.

My Engine and front end shakes at the idle speed. When I stop at a light. If I put the car in neutral it stops.

If your motor is suffering from lack of power you might have an engine miss, if the engine performs OK then you have a bad or some bad motor and transmision mounts. The mounts are are made of rubber and designed to absorb motor and transmision vibrations.

Bad motor mounts? 1999 toyota sienna

The vibration may not be the mounts but the motor missing. What the motor with the hood open. Have your driver put the unit in gear and see how much things move touch the engine and feel the unit does the engine run smothly or does it need a tune up or vacume leak fixed. The exhaust system may be touching the car somewhere and it's transferring noise and vibration. Air conditioning lines and fuel lines can do it too. Is the check engine light on? Mixture problems can make the engine chuggle and vibrate more than normal. oxagen sensers can cause mixture ans can temperture senser lies. Even an opened too much therostate can make the system think that its cold and turn up the fuel till the motor shakes. fouling plugs and causing fuel ecomony problems and low performance problems.

Hi,

vibrations over 55 mph are usually balance related (tire balance, drive shaft balance, motors)

vibrations at lower speeds are usually mechanical (bent rims, out of round tires, bad tie rods)
Therefore the suggestion for checking the harmonic balancer is perfect in your case.

Thanks
