Convertible roof not closing/working.

Just open up the panel on the roof right by the rearview mirror. The motor is right in there and there is an allen socket so you can close the roof manually.

I have a 206 cc of production year 2002 and the following solution worked for me. My problem was that the roof would not close anymore electronically and there were continuous (and annoying) beeps when driving. Following solved my problem:
1. Followed instructions to close the roof manually. This you can normally find on your cars manual. Alternatively have a look at video above for the manual closing of the roof.
2. After successfully closing the roof manually re-position the jumpers to automatic locking position. and re-tighten the depressurization bult.
3. Open the roof normally with the electric roof-switch. (check that the net at trunk is also closed).
These steps helped me reset the automatic roof mechanism.

sorry these things are tempremental and its a dealer only job because if you touch the motor it will never work again .i tried one once and because i didnt get it right i moved one of the motors manually and it had to have a new motor so now i look and tell someone where the dealers are

pull down the flat plate in the roof consul,then using the allen key in the tools supplied,wind it back/forward to open/close.

yes there is a manual winding mech. i think under around rear seats,thats where the relay and fues are for the auto roof, normally its quite easy to get the motors working on mech, you need multi meter , fuses and a psare relay.

Try resetting the electrical system by locking and unlocking the doors with your key in the driver's door 5 times in a row. A service manager at a Volvo dealer showed me this after they did some work on my car and on the way home the sunroof wouldn't close.

I have a 2001 S80 that I have to reset the electrical system like this every time I disconnect the battery. All kinds of stuff stops working...sun roof, door locks, lights, radio, windows, etc. Just reset like described and everything should start working again.

THERE SHOULD BE A PLUG IN THE COVER FOR THE SUNROOF MOTOR THAT YOU CAN POP OUT & CLOSE MANUALLY WITH A SCREWDRIVER

My 2007 EOS stops with the truck up in the air, going up or down, when the temperature is very hot. The manual says if the hydraulic fluid gets too hot, you must wait for it to cool. I find this unsatisfactory as I live in a very hot state. I had it in the shop several times, then found this in the manual, and took it in again last week; the service manager at the dealer says he has seen reports of this, but there is not solution that he knows of. I am contracting the National Headquarters this week, and then an attorney if they do not remedy it as I only have a few more months of warranty to work with them....hope this helps.

That is not the problem the problem is your convertable roof is not closing properly to test this let someone press down on the roof lid and then try to open the trunk, To fix this let the roof lid open and let the roof come up until the back part stands up to let the roof lid close so that the roof hold is exposed look on the right hand side of the car (if your standing at the back) under the roof lid catch there is a small plastic buttun that the roof lid catch needs to pres down on, this tells the car that the roof lid is seucre and it is now safe to let open the trunk, All you have to do is set the tension on the cable for that roof lid catch and the problem is sorted.

The Roof Mechanism works with two motors similiar to the ones that wund the windows. Now the two mechanism are located in the left side of the trunk. 

The trunk wont open Because of the roof lid that is not closed properly. How you can test this is to press down on the right sid of the roof lid and then try to opne the trunk.

Now the reason that this is happening is that the roof lid is not closing properly nad pressing on a small orange buttin located just below the right hand side roof lid catch. How you are going to remedy this problem is to adjust the cable tension to close more securely.

Now the two motors in the trunk that works the convertable roof can be engaged and disengaged on motor works the roof lid and the other one the roof.

You need to get these motors in sync so that they open and close the roof in the correct order.

That is if the electric are still working.
