Exhust cam overtimed for 2008 trailblazer

My check ingine light has come on. Noticed a hesitation "grabbing" at 45mph. A friend used a code reader and it indicated an exhust cam overspeed. What does this mean?

Prob a build up in cat converter can cause a back pressure slowing down escape of exhaust gases from engine you can get a catalytic converter cleaner to add to fuel tank ,give it a go as a cheap starting point expect it too take a full tank of fuel before it clears check the instruction on product

SOURCE: Service engine code indicates EGR valve.

You could have a restriction in the egr ports. remove the valve. Plug the holes, start engine. 1 hole will be blowing out exhaust, the other will have large vacuum.

SOURCE: speedometer erratic/intermittent

I don't know what is causing this problem, but I know phil140701's answer is completely wrong on two counts. First, 740 Volvos starting at least in 1986 have electronic speedometers and no cable. There is an electronic sensor on the differential which sends a signal to the speedometer cluster. Second, if it were strictly mechanical with a cable then the voltage regulator could have no effect on it at all.

I just put a new purge valve on 2008 trailblazer and is making a clicking sound. is this normal?

Yes the clicking is normal for the purge valve. The light will not go off until so many key on's. It can be turned off with a code reader.

I am having trouble locating the vacuum hose, and the check engine light goes on and off every other couple of days. Plus I noticed the rpm guage keeps going up and down while at a light

Next time that light comes on, check the code that's popping up. The light is indicating a code, which in turn directs you in the direction of the problem. If you don't have code reader, bring your vehicle to a place like autozone that will check the code for free. Let me know what the code is. Without this, we're just shooting in the dark, with the many different problems that would cause this.

I was code chasing for a long time with mine, (light was intermitent) until I finally bought a code reader myself. Light popped on, I plugged it in and grabbed the code instantly.

I have an 08 Mazda 6 4 cylinder, when I went accelerate my car hesitated then the check engine light came on, what is the problem

The check engine light indicates that a trouble code is stored in the vehicle's computer memory. An OBD II code reader is needed to read out the code and explain it. Major auto parts stores will use one of these readers to read out your code for free. With the code, a diagnostic routine can be developed to trouble shoot the problem.

My 2008 Equinox hesitates and jerks when accelerating beyond 45mph before running smoothly again beyond 55mph. The engine light flashes when accelerating beyond 55mph with a slight hesitation. I've...

Sorry Cleef, on dial up and lost the connection.
The reason it does this at higher speeds is that more ignition spark is needed to fire the spark plugs.
Yes, it's time for a tune up.
A shop that has a scanner can identify which cylinder is causing the misfire. It will have stored a code to do this.
I hope you find a good expert on chat. If not, message me back here and I will help you find your problem.
Again, my apologies for my poor connection.

How to reset the check engine on a 208 chevy

Just disconnect the battery (negative terminal) and turn the headlight switch on for about 15 minutes. This should reset the PCM. Otherwise go to Advance and have them hookup the code reader and reset the codes. Thanks

I own a 1999 Toyota Solara and the check ingine light is on. I have a n ODB code reader and it reads the code #P0135 heated oxygen senser circiut malfunctoin (bank 1, senser 1) I changed the oxygen senser...

Changing the O2 sensor for a P-0135? Use a TOYOTA sensor. The aftermarket/generic sensors do NOT work in Toyotas.

User with the smoking problem: Remove the valve cover & check for engine oil sludge where the cams ride. If it is sludged, a rebuild is necessary, BUT, Toyota DOES have warranty assistance for this issue. All you need are oil change receipts.
