3.08 is the ratio, if you want to know for sure, its stamped on the ring gear.

Rear axle swap on a 89 ford bronco 2 4x4 auto trans cant find a matching axle that will fit and allow me to convert the drums to brakes

You might want to research Ford 4x4 Clubs or Bronco Clubs and things like Off-roading publications. Ford use to have performance displays at some Dealerships. There are some specialty shops which can shorten rear axles.and narrow rear ends. One thing to remember is that both the front and rear differentials need matching gear ratios. So whatever you do, think of pairs.

What is the rear end ratio for 2005 Jeep Liberty limited edition 4wd

You will need to locate the tag on the rear end cover and find out the gear ratio, if theres no tag then you will need the manufactors date on the door, for example 04/05, and also if it got abs, there are three types,4.10 or 3.55 or 3.73. the best way is the tag or pull cover and count the teeth on ring gear and pinion gear and divide the two to get the ratio. goodday, also try to call the dealer parts dept and give them the vin # and they may be able to tell you the type rear end you have,

I have a 1988 Bronco with a drivers side rear axle and bearing problems. How can I find the right sized axle and bearings?

There's a tag on the rear cover. The most popular one on a full sized bronco is an 8.8 ring gear with a 3:55 ratio. However, The 5 lug axles are the same for the F150 and Bronco (not Bronco II) from about 88-96. The gear ratio doesn't matter. The axle bearing is probably in abundant supply in just about any parts store. The axles are plentiful at just about any salvage yard. There really aren't any options to concern yourself with. It's kinda like going to Baskin Robbins 32 flavors of Ice Cream...and they're all vanilla. You can check car-part.com to locate one near you and research the item on your own. I hope I've helped. Hole in rear housing(pumpkin) with some sort of rod also pushed out of pumpkin

It sounds like the retaining bolt broke and allowed the spider gear retaining pin to work itself out. Sorry, that rear end is a goner. Your cheapest route for repair will be to find a junkyard axle with the same gear ratio.
