Engine misfireunder load

I would check the coils...In have seen some fail at under 80k miles but mostly you can get well over 100k miles... I do not know if you have a great scanner or not, but what I do is use a scanner and run a power balance test and this graphs the cylinders performance and coil output. Also you can try cranking the car and let it get to operating temp, then go to each coil and disconnect it,you should have a rpm drop,if you do not get the rpm drop then that coil is bad.Last if you can test the resistance of the coil with a multimeter...Make sure you have the car scanned with a good scanner 1st to point you in the right direction.

Electrical power loss under engine load

It could be a throttle position sensor is the check is light on? There is also a crank position sensor that has to be re learned sometimes with engine swaps as well

Loses power while driving

I suspect that your fuel system is faulty. Check for a clogged fuel filter, or if your fuel pump don't run at all, replace the "fuel pump relay". Sometimes your fuel pump will run, but be too weak to hold pressure, which will let your car idle somewhat, but be too weak to run the engine at speed or under load.

Hello Travis, from your description it sounds like a fuel delivery problem. You can check the fuel pressure regulator by connecting your fuel pressure gauge. With engine running at idle, disconnect the pressure regulator, the fuel pressure should increase 5-10 psi---if it does not, the regulator is defective. Also check your MAF sensor, you can remove and clean it with an electronic contact cleaner. (spray can) also check for vacuum leaks, hoses, etc. as unmetered air entering the engine under load or deaccelreation will cause the exhaust "backfire"

Good luck & i hope this helps FixYa!

Have 1995 olds cutlas with v6 3100 engine. engine runs great at idle and lots of power when cold. after driving for 150 miles car starts cutting out and loosing power under load. still idling great at that...

could be a fault with the fuel pump. it may be wearing out. check the fuel pressure at delivery. a blocked filter can also do this as its being surged for more fuel not the normal filter this one is on the pump it has larger holes and if you have sludge in the tank this can stop the fuel delivery. . for vacuum leaks spray some carb cleaner around the air lines any change in the engine usually indicates an air leak. also the fuel pressure valve these can all lower or stop fuel pressure.

K2500 chevy 3/4 ton pick up. no power under load

IN your distributer under the rotor is a magnet and a pickup coil (the magnet is known as a pole piece) check your pickup coil for corrsion (green in color) and the module and also check pole piece for cracks in the magnet where the rivets hold it together. sometimes oil wicks up around the distributer shaft because of housing wear or the pieces just wear out over time.

Engine power seem a miss when demand is needed

check your fuel pressure good chance that there is enough fuel getting there under light load but not enough under heavy load it should not drop below 45 pounds at WOT ( wide open throttle ) while driving under a load if it drops to low good place to start at the pick up screen in the tank or the pump itself
