DTC P0191: Fuel Rail Pressure (FRP) Sensor Performance
The fuel rail pressure (FRP) sensor has a 5-volt reference circuit, a signal circuit, and a low reference circuit. The engine control module (ECM) monitors the voltage on the FRP sensor circuits. When the fuel pressure is high, the signal voltage is high. When the fuel pressure is low, the signal voltage is low. The fuel pressure regulator has a solenoid supply voltage circuit and a solenoid control circuit. The ECM controls the fuel pressure regulator , which regulates high pressure fuel that goes to the fuel injector rails and the injectors.

PWM is employed in a wide variety of applications, ranging from measurement and communications to power control and conversion. The PCM - engine computer uses the fuel rail pressure sensor input to send commands to the FPDM .

P0190 - Fuel Rail Pressure (FRP) Sensor Circuit Malfunction Description: The comprehensive component monitor (CCM) monitors the FRP sensor to the powertrain control module (PCM) for VREF voltage. The test fails when the VREF voltage from the PCM drops to a voltage less than a minimum calibrated value. Possible Causes:
  • VREF open in harness.
  • VREF open in sensor.
  • Vacuum leaks.
Diagnostic Aids: Verify a VREF voltage between 4 and 6 volts. What does it mean when no fuel comes out of the fuel pressure regulator but there is fuel in the fuel rail?


fit a fuel pressure gauge and flow meter in the fuel line if the pressure is low replace the pump,if the flow is low replace the fuel filter, if the fuel pressure is high replace the fuel rail pressure regulator.

1999 cadillac Seville won't start only whrn spraying throttle body cleaner . I got spark and fuel on fuel rails with pressure what else y check


The fact that it will start with the throttle body cleaner means that the PCM is attempting to start the engine. The fact that there is fuel at the rail and there is pressure may be misleading. There may not be ENOUGH pressure at the rail to do the job. Check the fuel pressure regulator....pull the vacuum line off the regulator. If there is any fuel in the line, the regulator is faulty and must be replaced. This is the most likely candidate.

FUEL RAIL PRESSURE CIRCUIT LOW


This report comes from the fuel rail pressure sensor and is advising that the pump is not providing sufficient fuel to keep up the pressure or the pressure regulator is not operating correctly( vacuum line if connected) or the fuel filter is blocked or the tank is not venting correctly. IT may even be the sensor itself is faulty

My low pressure fuel pump on my e270cdi cut out under high load conditions.no pressure from the rear.all fault codes tell me the rail pressure is to low


Fuel pump relay is in cavity A in the rear SAM ( Signal Acquisition Module.) on the left hand side of the trunk behind a door.

When did you check the voltage..... you must read it while cranking or you will get a zero voltage reading.. The low pressure tank pump builds pressure to the high pressure pump and then shuts down until a pressure drop is sensed in the low pressure line and it then starts up again.

If rail pressure is too low, it often is the high pressure pump in the engine or the relief valve in the fuel rail. The tank pump is low pressure just to stop the tandem pump from cavitating by sucking too hard.

Mercedes can check the rail pressure and do an injector pressure drop to rule out a leaking injector.

If the tank pump is bad it will require replacement.
