It's got all the symptoms of a leak in the fuel line. You may want to start backward at the tank and work your way all the way to the carb to find it but it would be surprising if it was something else. All the best.

The gas is under more pressure when it's running. Best way I've seen to find a leak is to run the car in the driveway for a while and look for spots under the car. You can also check around the Carb for leakage but you mentioned you had just had the wheels changed before the problem started so it makes sense that the area near the tank would be the first place I'd look.

Just purchased this car for my son. The rear end vibrates at speeds over 65 MPH but runs fine at lower speeds. Had tires rotated but they are more than 50% worn.

Again, if the vibration wasn't apparent before the tire rotation, look for a broken belt in the tires, bent rim or perhaps a wheel weight has gone AWOL.

Ford 460 loses power then dies. Starts back up. Idles fine.

It sounds like you might have a clogged catalatic converter on the exhaust system.

15" rims to 14"?

There could be a shifted belt in one of the front tires.Take the 2 front tires and swap them from left to right. This means take the left front and put it on the right front and right to left front. Then drive it and see if the it pulls the opposite way.If it does then you have tire in the front. Also make sure they are both the same size.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Took back to store where bought tires and rims. They also put the computer on, but they drove with it attached and the tech who was in passenger seat said left front wheel not calibrated as the others so he calibrated all wheels to .05 at the maximum tire allowance. This has stopped the brakes from grabbing.

Said that the factory had programmed in for 16 inch rims. Jeep came standard with 18 inch.
Now everything working great. Don't know why dealership could not do this properly. Happy I bought tires and rims from a reputable and knowlegeable store. (Tire Craft) Thanks Mike.

1996 jeep grand cherokee ltd problem with transfer case because of different size tires

You should have the same size tires in the front and back. By having 2 different sizes, you are changing the gear ratios between the front diff. and rear diff. You could wipe out the t-case especially if it is full time 4wd.
