Question about 2005 Ford Falcon

Car is stuck in reverse

2003 automatic BA wagon. I was reversing out from my garage and selector failed. It is now stuck in reverse, and so cannot even be started. Is there any tricks with this, or do I just truck it to the mechanic?

I just failed my N.J. state inspection for the following reason. Can you help? The white back-up lights stay on at all times. I checked the b/u light fuse and found it to be good. Any ideas what I can...

The transmission switch that powers the reverse light switches is stuck in the ON position, this is quite a common fault.
The switch is mounted on the transmission casing near where the selector rods enter the casing on a manual shift and in the selector housing on automatic cars.

Manual gearbox linkage stuck in reverse, gear stick is limp

I would be looking at the selector cable ( if you have one ) for a broken cable or the end has come free of the selector . Should be under car but check both ends.

100 series landcruiser does not like goingin reverse, feels like at the brakes are on, the car is reluctant to go backwards

manual or stick shift?????, USA car, or not?
is the lever stuck or
the lever goes to reverse but car wont move in reverse.
2003 series 100 LC
it can be 2 things, the TCM is not commanding Reverse
or the tranny refused to go there
if A/T (automatic trans) why not, plug in any scan tool
and read all those tranny errors.
that is first after checking fuses

Automatic transmission of toyota sera i couldn't move reverse it gets stuck rest is fine

It may be due to:
- Maladjustment of the gear lever cable or selector assembly.
- Valve body assembly.
- Planetary gear unit.
- Reverse clutch.

88 pontiac firebird formula is stuck in reverse

Is this a standard or automatic?? If you can get under car and follow linkage back from firewall to tranny could be caught; If automatic check for loose bolts or any thing that linkage could get stuck on........ make sure it was not thrown into park; can knock wire off of tranny actuatores(switchs)

Car stuck in reverse and won't start

presumably it has an AUTO box fitted, if it has you will have to get the selector linkage checked if its cable operated it could be missadjusted or broken, the same if it is operated by linkage, check for a broken link or one that has come off. your car will not start (if auto) unless it is in "Neutral" or "park" position and if it is stuck in reverse its more likely to be a linkage problem, hopefully, and not the box.

My 1999 Pontiac Sunfire GT 2.4L Automatic Gear Selector is broken

you car likely thinks its stuck in reverse, which it may be... even if you can roll it. you'll need to find a way to either get it into park or neutral, normally this can be done by the actual linkages under the shift console or from underneath the car.
