Not sure what year or Country this question is for, Fairmonts have not be made in USA since the 70's.

If this is a late model car, there is a safety switch on the brake pedal lever or the clutch on a stick-shift that prevents the engine from cranking unless your foot is on the brake or on the clutch.

This switch often gets hit by the drivers feet and you lose the signal. Sometimes the brake lights won't work. So check under the dash and see if there is a switch on either pedal lever.

SOURCE: hi i have an ea

The spark is controlled by a module and sensor inside the distributor, called a thick film module. If either of these components fail you will lose spark.. NO, its not the vehicles computer, it only sends timing information to the module and has no other control. In fact, you can take the computer out and the ignition system would still fire the plugs (but the injectors would not work)..Anyway. You need to set the engne to Top Dead Centre On number one cylinder and then remove and replace the entire distributor. I advise this because if either component has failed, the other will also fail in the near future.. The new distributor has start and finish markings on it. Set the rotor to the start mark and slip it into the engine, it should engage with the oil pump drive and when it is all the way home, the rotor will point at the finish mark, you can then refit the clamp BUT dont tighten it up yet and the cap and leads. Next, check and reset the ignition timing according the the engine type (EFI or CFI) and then tighten the clamp firmly. Getting the distributor to slot into its drive gears and the oil pump drive at the same time is tricky and frustrating so to save yourself time and stress, take it to a qualified mechanic if you have any doubts about your ability to undertake this repair..

SOURCE: wont go into reverse and doesnt go into 3rd unless i let off gas

It sounds like you broke the sun gear shell in the transmission. This is real common on 4L60E. The transmission will have to be disassembled to fix it. If this is what is wrong it will have no reverse and hold 1st till about 30 and then skip 2nd, right to 3rd. Then never shift in to 4th.

SOURCE: ed ford falcon just done headgasket wont start

Crank sensor to module to coil pack to plugs. There may be a failing component. I would check Crank Sensor first. If you are getting spark to all cylinders, then rule out coil packs, if only spark to one or two cylinders, then replace faulty pack.

Ford econoline wont start

Click on the link. I tried to get all on the same page, hope you can read it? It's for the starter motor circuit. You need to test when problem is ongoing.
Make sure battery has a full charge and connections all good. I don't know liter size of engine, whether it is diesel or gasoline? The diagram is for 5.8L gas engine.
Any testing at starter motor make sure tranny is in park or neutral and the parking brake is set. Two voltage circuits at starter motor, one comes from the battery, hot all the time. The other circuit goes hot when starter relay is energized. Check the fuses for voltage in the diagram. The starter motor usually grounds through engine block.
Unless you can do some testing, I don't know how to help?

I have a au falcon wont start everything else works , it will not even wind over it has a new battery

check starter motor if u locate it there is small terminal on solenoid take wire off and CAREFULLY touch screwdriver from that terminal to large terminal on solenoid with wire that comes from battery attavhed to it if nothing happens try reconnect small wire and lightly tap round end of starter below solenoid with a small heavy object like hammer head but not so hard as to damage it

91 camary wont start

did you try jumping the solenoid at the starter to see if it turns?.
could be the neutral safety switch has failed or the ignition switch is bad.
1991 camrys did not come with engine immobilizers unless you have an after market alarm.
